Producers Bruce Cohen, Robb Nanus, Jessica Leventhal, Bruce Robert Harris and Jack W. Batman announced today that Disney Theatrical, Jujamcyn Theaters, The Nederlander Organization and The Shubert Organization four of Broadway's leading organizations, have come together by contributing matching donations in support of Tony and Grammy Award nominee Andrew Lippa's new oratorio, I Am Harvey Milk, which will have its New York premiere on Monday, October 6 at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall.

Batman announced today that child actor Noah Marlowe (Mary Poppins, Act One) will play "Young Harvey Milk" in the New York premiere of Tony and Grammy Award nominee Andrew Lippa's new oratorio, I Am Harvey Milk, set for Monday, October 6 at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. Mr. Marlowe originated the role in I Am Harvey Milk's world premiere performance in San Francisco and can be heard on the Original Cast Recording.

San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus (SFGMC) named winner for "I Am Harvey Milk" in the Soundtrack / Cast Recording Album category at the 13th Independent Music Awards (The IMAs). "I Am Harvey Milk" is an emotional celebration of an American icon. Part choral work, part theater piece, it weaves the story of Harvey Milk's life -- from boyhood to his rise as the first openly gay man to hold public office in California and to his untimely assassination.

The original cast recording of Andrew Lippa's I Am Harvey Milk was just named by Music Resource Group (MRG) as the winner of Best Soundtrack/Cast Recording in The 13th Independent Music Awards (The IMAs), the influential awards program for independent music and fans. Representing the broad spectrum of today's global independent music scene, the nominees in over 80 Album, Song, Music Video and Design categories were culled from thousands of submissions from North America, South America, Asia, Africa, Australia, Greenland and Europe.

Up and coming musical theatre writer Zack Zadek performs a concert of his music at Highline Ballroom today, Monday November 11, at 8PM. Directed by Hunter Bird, the concert will be a mix of musical theatre, pop, dance, as well as selections from Zadek's full-length musicals 6 (New York Musical Theatre Festival 2012), and The Crazy Ones (NYMF Reading Series 2013).

The recording is the culmination of SFGMC's 35-year history, which began at the candlelight vigil for slain Supervisor Harvey Milk. With music and words by Tony and Grammy Award nominee Andrew Lippa (Big Fish, The Addams Family, The Wild Party), I Am Harvey Milk features Lippa as Harvey Milk, Tony Award-winner Laura Benanti (Gypsy, NBC's "Go On") as the Soprano Soloist and Noah Marlowe (Mary Poppins, Fun Home) as young Harvey, along with the 300 men of the Chorus. The entire run sold out so quickly that NYMF recently announced that the production will play a special added performance on Thursday, July 25that 1PM.
