Not many 10-year-olds these days get starring roles in brand new world premiere musicals alongside Tony nominees, but Sarah Charles Lewis is the exception. With a contagious energy and bubbly personality, Lewis was just about to burst with excitement as she told me all about working with Tony Award-winning director/choreographer Casey Nicholaw, performing to sold-out crowds at the prestigious Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, and living her dream as Winnie Foster in TUCK EVERLASTING.

Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Tuck Everlasting, Newsies) has released a new music video by composers Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews (Witness Uganda). Gould and Matthews received the Richard Rodgers Award in 2012 and 2014 for their Broadway bound musical, Witness Uganda. The video, Invisible Thread, is part of a fundraising effort for the educational organization, UgandaProject. Check it out below!

'Jack & Louisa: Act 1,' a fun-filled story of friendship set against the backdrop of musical theater, is released today, February 10, 2015. The novel is penned by Broadway performers Andrew Keenan-Bolger and Kate Wetherhead. The debut authors drew on their success of their web series, Submissions Only, when creating this middle grade crowd-pleaser. Below, BroadwayWorld brings you photos from the big book launch, which featured special appearances by Zachary Unger (Newsies, Big Fish) and Brooklyn Shuck (Matilda, Annie).

In just over two weeks, a parade of long-legged men and women will march into Music Hall at Fair Park, delivering Dallas the national tour of Kinky Boots. As part of Dallas Summer Musical's 75th anniversary season, the show features music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper (yes, that Cyndi Lauper!) and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. Kinky Boots is the dazzling, smash-hit Broadway musical based on the 2005 film of the same name. Yesterday, I spoke with Lindsay Nicole Chambers, who stars as Lauren in the Kinky Boots tour. With three Broadway shows under her belt (Legally Blonde, Hairspray, Lysistrata Jones), and now three Broadway national tours (Elf, Hairspray, Kinky Boots), Lindsay is known for her incredible versatility and her incomparable comedic talent. She's also appeared onscreen in Across The Universe, and in Submissions Only, a comedy web series about the casting and audition process for Broadway theatre (written by and featuring some of Broadway's greatest artists). Lindsay is also no stranger to Dallas, having performed at Dallas Theatre Center in the pre-Broadway run of Lysistrata Jones (which was known as Give It Up in Dallas).

The Alliance Theatre presents the world premiere of the musical Tuck Everlasting, opening tonight, February 4, 2015. Based on the beloved best-selling novel by Natalie Babbitt, Tuck Everlasting is an exhilarating story about everlasting love, never-ending life, and discovering what it means to truly feel alive.

Despite being a ratings disaster, there were a number of positive things that came out of SMASH's run on NBC; Megan Hilty's star turn, endless internet memes, and Annoying Actor Friend. The internet phenomenon @Actor_Friend 'werked' its way to the forefront of the theatre community's consciousness with its biting, but honest critiques of the musical melodrama's two-year TV run.

The Alliance Theatre has partnered with Broadway Dreams Foundation and ArtsBridge Foundation, two premier arts education programs, in celebration of Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw (Aladdin, The Book of Mormon) and his outstanding contribution to the American Musical Theatre. The celebration featured a musical journey through Nicholaw's career, including a sneak peek of Tuck Everlasting, a world premiere new musical now in performances at the Alliance Theatre. The 80-minute musical celebration took place on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre (2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway, Atlanta, GA). Scroll down for photos!
