MasterVoices announces additional casting for its season opening presentation of George and Ira Gershwin's Of Thee I Sing on Thursday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. Tony Award nominee Den e Benton (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) joins the cast as Mary Turner, replacing Phillipa Soo, who regretfully can no longer participate due to scheduling conflicts.

Mad Horse Theatre in South Portland opened its 2017-2018 with another edgy, brilliant production that speaks to the company's reputation for crafting the unusual and provocative with consummate skill. That they had already programmed the 2009 Off-Broadway hit, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson before the tragic and untimely death on September 9th of its composer-lyricist Michael Friedman, only added impact to a production that is angry, powerful, funny, and hugely contemporaneous.

HOT MESS, a romantic comedy by Dan Rothenberg (Suburban Boy; Regretrosexual) and Colleen Crabtree (The Tragic and Horrible Life of the Singing Nun, The Groundlings), and directed by Jonathan Silverstein (tick, tick...BOOM; John & Jen; The Temperamentals), will play The Jerry Orbach Theater at The Theater Center (1627 Broadway at 50th Street) beginning November 7th and opening on November 16th, it was announced today by producers Jay Alix and Una Jackman.
Piqua Chautauqua Coming to Hance Pavilion This September

Last summer, a group form the Ohio Humanities Council visited Piqua to consider it as one of their Ohio Chautauqua sites for 2017. Unfortunately, they were not selected, but they did encourage the group to develop their own Chautauqua event. Well, give folks from Piqua a challenge and they deliver. So a dedicated committee officially began working on Piqua Chautauqua! The dates for this event will be September 19, 20 & 21, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. and will take place at Hance Pavilion, located in Fountain Park in Piqua.

Amazing is an adjective easily associated with Casa Manana's Broadway-caliber performances, especially considering their recent successes with WEST SIDE STORY, ROCK OF AGES, and notably their kick-ass apprentice production of BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON. But despite a top-notch production team and an infinitely skilled cast, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT doesn't quite live up to its title.
