DTC artistic director Kevin Moriarty directs the Kennedy Center Jean Kennedy Smith Playwriting Award-winning play, which is choreographed by founder and artistic director of Dark Circles Contemporary Dance Joshua L. Peugh. Colossal begins with previews tonight, April 2 with a Pay-What-You-Can performance and runs through Sunday, May 3.

On the heals of its hit musical production Titanic, Griffin Theatre Company continues its 2014-15 season with Lanford Wilson's acclaimed drama BALM IN GILEAD directed by ensemble member Jonathan Berry and featuring an ensemble cast of 27 actors and musicians. Five-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb has announced the line-up for SUMMERWORKS, its annual series of new plays. Now in its 20th season, SUMMERWORKS will run May 20th through June 29th at The Wild Project (195 E 3rd Street) in Manhattan, and will feature productions of three new plays: D DEB DEBBIE DEBORAH by Jerry Lieblich, directed by Lee Sunday Evans; CARD AND GIFT by Kate E. Roundabout Theatre Company presents the Roundabout Underground world-premiere production of Little Children Dream of God, a new play by Jeff Augustin. The world premiere of Little Children Dream of God began preview performances Off-Broadway on January 24 and officially opens tonight, February 17, 2015 at the Black Box Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). This is a limited engagement through Sunday, April 5, 2015.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, is pleased to announce the recipients of the Edgerton Foundation New Play Awards for the 2014-15 season. The awards, totaling $858,000, allow 26 productions extra time in the development and rehearsal of new plays with the entire creative team, helping to extend the life of the play after its first run.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the next Roundabout Underground production, the world premiere of Ugly Lies the Bone, a new play by Lindsey Ferrentino, directed by Patricia McGregor. Ugly Lies the Bone, which was presented as part of last year's Underground Reading Series at Roundabout, is the first-ever recipient of a Special Citation of Excellence from The Laurents / Hatcher Foundation. The cast and creative team will be announced at a later date.

Victory Gardens Theater hosted We Must Breathe: A Response from Chicago Playwrights and Poets, a special event gathering members of Chicago's artistic community to share their views on discrimination, race and inequality and engage Chicagoans in a discussion about these social issues. We Must Breathe featured performances from poets and playwrights directed by Victory Gardens' Associate Artistic Producer Joanie Schultz, and a forum discussion on the performance topics, moderated by Congo Square Theatre's Artistic Director Samuel Roberson.
