From a farming community in rural Oregon to the big cities of Los Angeles and New York, playwright EM Lewis takes aim at her own relationship with firearms in The Gun Show. The playwright grew up in rural Oregon, where everyone has guns. She learned to shoot on a date. She worked at Jackson's Bookstore during an armed robbery, and once encountered a threatening cop in New York. She's got multiple stories to tell. And then there's the fifth story: the one that doesn't let go, the one that triggered this show. Five gun stories in a country full of gun stories.

?Featuring a cast of unusual, but absolutely authentic, American characters, Last Gas is a new comedy that theatres around the country are already fighting over to get the rights to produce. Chenango River Theatre is proud to be one of the first in the country to showcase this snappy new comedy. How new is the script? So new it's not even published yet. Author John Cariani, currently starring in the Broadway musical Something Rotten, has been sending script revisions to CRT's cast on a regular basis as he fine tunes the script for productions around the country.

Amas Musical Theatre and The Amas Musical Theatre Lab will present staged readings for the New York premiere of 'Round Thelonious, a new play with music about the unique relationship between Rothschild heiress Pannonica (Nica) de Koenigswarter and jazz genius Thelonious Monk, written and performed by Anita Pollard. Directed by Shidan Majidi with Musical Direction by Willerm Delisfort (on piano), the readings will be held on Monday, July 25th and Tuesday, July 26th at 7pm at Ripley Greer Studios (939 Eighth Avenue - between 55th & 56th Streets).
