Bill T. Jones to Receive 2010 Jacob's Pillow Dance Award 6/19

Jacob's Pillow announces today that Executive Director Ella Baff will soon present the fourth annual Jacob's Pillow Dance Award to Bill T. Jones, acclaimed choreographer, co-founder, and artistic director of Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, Tony Award winner for Spring Awakening, and director of the current Broadway hit FELA! The Jacob's Pillow Dance Award honors outstanding visionary artists and carries a prize of $25,000, one of the largest cash awards in the dance industry, to be used by the choreographer to enhance their artistry in any way they choose.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago (HSDC), one of the world's premiere contemporary dance companies, will present a riveting 2010 Spring Series, which will include the World Premiere of Terence Marling's At ‘em (Atem) Adam; a Hubbard Street 2 (HS2) World Premiere performance of First Light set by HSDC's resident choreographer and dancer Alejandro Cerrudo; the Company Premiere of 27'52' by world-renowned choreographer Jirí Kylián; and a revival of Susan Marshall's Kiss. The Spring Series will take place at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 E. Randolph Drive, in five performances only, March 18 - 21, 2010. The Spring Series is generously sponsored by Exelon and the Chicago Sun-Times.

The Board of Trustees of the Princess Grace Foundation- USA and its Chairman, Hon. John F. Lehman, announced today winners of the 2009 Princess Grace Awards. The Awards for theater, dance and choreography, and film continue the legacy of Princess Grace (Kelly) of Monaco, who anonymously helped emerging artists pursue their goals during Her lifetime.
The A.W.A.R.D. Show Announces Makiko Tamura As Winner

The Joyce Theater Foundation is pleased to announce that choreographer Makiko Tamura (small apple co.) is the winner of The A.W.A.R.D Show! 2009: New York City. Tamura, who competed in a four day event with eleven other participants, received a $10,000 cash award to use toward the creation of a new dance work. Two runners-up, Monica Bill Barnes (Monica Bill Barnes & Company) and Shannon Gillen & Elisabeth Motley (DOORKNOB COMPANY) were each awarded $1,000.

The Joyce Theater Foundation (New York), in association with the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival, The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago and On the Boards (Seattle), is pleased to announce the 12 choreographers in each of the four cities who will participate in The A.W.A.R.D Show! 2009. The 48 participants were selected from a total of 218 applicants from across the country; one from each city will take home a $10,000 award to use toward the creation of a new dance work.
'Postcards From God' at Jermyn Street from Jan. 8th

Postcards From God - the Sister Wendy Musical, will open at the Jermyn Street Theatre on January 8th with performances running for four weeks only through to February 3rd. Produced by the Okai Collier Company, the production will star Andrea Miller as Mother Ruth/Penelope, Juliet Gough as Daniel/Brandy LeBrun, Catherine Millsom as Coz, Louise Hollamby as Sister Amelia and the West End veteran Myra Sands as Sister Wendy.
