Brett Haylock, producer of the indomitable La Clique and La Soiree, has brought the sparkle and fizz back to Sydney and dusted off the Opera House for a night of vintage good fun. As a sincerely scintillating ensemble are bubbling away to create the latest in a line of variety-circus-burlesque triumphs, Broadway World got to sit down with Amy G and talk turkey. Dita Von Teese is the world's most famous burlesque star and will be making her Adelaide debut in Strip, Strip Hooray on Monday 13 June in the Festival Theatre. From the moment Adelaide Cabaret Festival was on sale Dita clearly became the 'hot ticket' to secure and her show sold out in the first week! With such an overwhelming response, Adelaide Cabaret Festival is excited to announce an additional show of Strip, Strip, Hooray on Thursday 23 June at 7.30pm in the Festival Theatre. China Then and Now brings together exemplary Chinese works of art from the classical, early modern and contemporary periods. The exhibition explores three millennia of one of the world's most important artistic traditions from the perspective of American collectors on Long Island, such as Childs and Frances Frick and Dr. Arthur M. Sackler. The exhibition opens at Nassau County Museum of Art on November 22, 2014 and remains on view through March 8, 2015.
The Pasadena Playhouse has updated the performance schedule for two unusual one-person shows - Amy G in Entershamement and Joe Orrach in In My Corner - to reopen the newly re-designed Carrie Hamilton Theatre. Entershamement has a limited run of five performances, while In My Corner runs for one night only. With these shows, that perform today, May 22 to May 31, The Playhouse is relighting the refurbished Carrie Hamilton Theatre, which has been changed from a proscenium theatre to a black box, and can be configured to accommodate many different kinds of productions.
