On April 26, 2013, American Repertory Ballet will present "All About Pointe Shoes," an On Pointe Enrichment Series event. This lecture-demonstration will cover the ins and outs of pointe shoes from brand and material choices to fitting and personal customization tricks from ARB's ballerinas. "All About Pointe Shoes" will be held at 5:15 PM in the Princeton Studio, at 301 North Harrison Street, Princeton, NJ in the Princeton Shopping Center, above McCaffrey's Supermarket.

American Ballet Theatre's Studio Company performance on Friday, April 5 at 7:30pm will include full performances of Alexei Ratmansky's Le Carnaval Des Animaux, Paul Taylor's Airs, Raymond Luken's Jerusalem Divertissement and George Balanchine's Tarantella. The show will be part of the second annual "Pace Presents" program, a series of performing and visual arts programs.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee has announced this year's recipients for the Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre. This year's awards will be presented to Bernard 'Bernie' Gersten, Executive Producer of Lincoln Center Theater; Scenic Designer Ming Cho Lee and Paul Libin, Executive Vice President of Jujamcyn Theatres.

The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) has announced that author and co-director of the Acquavella Gallery Michael Findlay, composer Elliot Goldenthal, filmmaker Mira Nair and visual artist Fred Wilson will be inducted into the NYFA Hall of Fame on Tuesday, April 23rd at Espace (635 West 42nd Street). The evening begins at 6:30 with a cocktail reception featuring interactive art by past and current NYFA grantees, followed by dinner and remarks from all the honorees. Tickets start at $500 and tables at $5,000; tickets for the Young Patrons After party, which begins at 9:30, are $250. Tickets and tables at all levels can be purchased at www.nyfa.org.

In celebration of choreographer Lar Lubovitch's 70th birthday in 2013, The Joffrey Ballet's season concludes this spring with the return of the native Chicagoan's three-act dance, Othello. Set to a score by Oscar winner Elliot Goldenthal, Othello uses an amalgam of classical ballet and modern dance to tell the dramatic story of the Venetian Moor, Othello, his beloved Desdemona and the conniving Iago, in a vibrant tale of passion, jealousy, ambition and betrayal. Live orchestral accompaniment is provided by The Chicago Philharmonic, led by Joffrey Music Director Scott Speck. The Joffrey Ballet presents Othello in ten performances only at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, 50 East Congress Parkway, April 24 - May 5.

On Monday, April 22 at 7:30pm at The Joyce Theater, the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation will present DESTINY RISING, an evening of dance artistry benefiting the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation College Scholarship Program. Featuring outstanding NYC Dance Alliance alumni, choreography from NYC Dance Alliance faculty, and special guest performances from prominent professional dance companies, there will also be a post-performance talkback available to all in attendance. The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, presents the Third Annual Winning Works: Choreographers of Color Award, featuring three World Premieres by rising-star choreographers Ma Cong, William McClellan and Jeremy McQueen. New York-based fashion designer LaQuan Smith will conceptualize and design a costume for McQueen's piece. The three World Premieres, along with Academy Co-Artistic Director Alexei Kremnev's work titled Carnival of Animals, are presented in Winning Works: Choreographers of Color Award 2013 at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 E. Randolph Drive, in one performance only, today, March 10, 2013 at 4 pm.
