Signature Theatre has announced that the World Premiere of CHERI, conceived, directed and choreographed by Martha Clarke, will get a one week extension and now play a limited six week run through Sunday December 29 only. The production began preview performances on November 19 and opening night is December 8 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). A limited number of $25 tickets remain for the initial run through December 22 and tickets during the extension week are $75 each. Signature offers a waitlist option for all sold out performances. Names will be taken at the Box Office starting one hour prior to curtain. Waitlist tickets through December 22 are $25, subject to availability.

Yale's School of Architecture and School of Drama are teaming up this fall to present 'Stage Designs by Ming Cho Lee,' a retrospective of the award-winning designer and Yale professor's work in theater, opera, and dance. The exhibit, free and open to the public, will be on view today, Nov. 21-Feb. 1 in the Yale School of Architecture Gallery, 180 York St., in New Haven.

The fourth South African International Ballet Competition (SAIBC), supported by the National Lotteries Distribution Trust Fund, takes place at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town, from 17 to 23 February 2014. Formerly known as the Cape Town International Ballet Competition (CTIBC) it is the only event of its kind on the African continent and attracts top dancers from SA and the World. A new competitor category has also being announced for the 2014 awards.

BalletNext led by internationally renowned dancer Michele Wiles, will present a highly anticipated season at New York Live Arts, January 14 - 18, featuring three works by acclaimed choreographer and former American Ballet Theatre (ABT) dancer, Brian Reeder. Building on their long-running relationship which began in 2000 while dancing at ABT, Wiles and Reeder have collaborated on a diverse program that includes two premieres, Surmisable Units and Different Homes, as well as Picnic which was created for BalletNext in 2012. Live music will accompany the dancers by the BalletNext Ensemble led by noted Israeli cellist Elad Kabilio and featuring Julliard pianist, Ben Laude.

Segerstrom Center's 2013 - 2014 International Dance Season opened with the world premiere of Diana Vishneva: On the Edge, which introduced two new works commissioned by the Center and Ardani Artists for the internationally renowned and award-winning star of the Mariinsky Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. On the Edge is in two acts, and begins with Jean-Christophe Maillot's intriguing piece titled Switch, followed by Carolyn Carlson's profound solo work, Woman in a Room. After this world premiere engagement in Segerstrom Hall, On the Edge will make its European premiere in December at both the National Centre for Contemporary Choreography in Roubaix, France and in Monte-Carlo's Salle Garnier as part of the Les Ballet des Monte-Carlo dance season. American Ballet Theatre (ABT) held its annual Opening Night Fall Gala benefit last night at the David H. Koch Theatre, hosting over 700 patrons, sponsors, supporters, friends, alumni and members of the Board of Trustees. ABT's inaugural season at the David H. Koch Theatre marks the Company's first return to the venue since 1976. The gala, which serves as the opening of ABT's fall season at the Koch Theatre, raised $1.65 million dollars and a portion of the proceeds will support ABT's education and community outreach programs.
