Broadway's Leslie Odom, Jr., Audra McDonald, Ashley Brown and More to Headline Milwaukee Symphony Pops' 2017-18 Season

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra announced plans today for the 2017.18 Pops Season. The season includes six subscription concerts: Under the Streetlamp with the cast of Chicago's Jersey Boys; Holiday Pops with Andreas Delfs; a semi-staged production of the beloved musical My Fair Lady; Great Balls of Fire! with pianist Tony DeSare; Patriotic Pops with Stuart Chafetz and Broadway star Capathia Jenkins; and Great American Songbook with Jeff Tyzik and vocalist Ashley Brown.

Met Box Office to Open Sunday

American Ballet Theatre's 2017 Spring season at the Metropolitan Opera House, May 15-July 8, will feature the New York Premiere of Alexei Ratmansky's Whipped Cream and the Company Premiere of Ratmansky's Souvenir d'un lieu cher. Tickets for ABT's Spring Season at the Metropolitan Opera House go on sale at the box office on Sunday, March 26 at 12 Noon.

Nashville Ballet to Perform at JFK Center in DC, 4/17

Nashville Ballet will make its debut appearance at the famed John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. to perform The Ben Folds Project April 17-23, 2017, as a part of the Ballet Across America series. Illustrating the most exciting, innovative dance happening across America today, the program is curated by major stars of the ballet world: American Ballet Theatre Principal Dancer Misty Copeland and New York City Ballet Resident Choreographer and Soloist Justin Peck.

The New York Choral Society Presents ST. LUKE PASSION, 4/8

The New York Choral Society (NYCHORAL) under the direction of its Music Director David Hayes will give the New York Premiere of celebrated Scottish composer James MacMillan's St. Luke Passion. NYCHORAL will be joined by organist Jason Roberts as well as the remarkable Brooklyn Youth Chorus under Artistic Director Dianne Berkun Menaker. James MacMillan's St. Luke Passion, written in 2013, is the second of four planned works, each based on one of the Gospels which aim to approach the differing passion accounts from contrasting stylistic per-spectives. The concert will take place on Saturday evening, April 8, 2017, 8 pm  at the landmark St. Bartholomew's Church, at 51st Street and Park Avenue. The program follows:

Review Roundup: American Ballet Theater's WHIPPED CREAM

American Ballet Theatre presented the World Premiere of an all-new production of Whipped Cream, a two-act ballet choreographed by Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky, with sets and costumes by artist Mark Ryden. It opened on March 15, 2017 at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, California.

Get ready for spring in the Marblehead School of Ballet's (MSB) adult ballet class on Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the studio, located at 115 Pleasant Street, in Marblehead, Massachusetts.  Dancers with elementary and intermediate levels of are invited to register for a series or drop-in and take a dance class.

Harris Theater Presents Music & Dance 2017-18 Season

 The Harris Theater for Music and Dance is pleased to announce its fourteenth season of Harris Theater Presents performances exploring companies and stories of epic magnitude. Joffrey Ballet Presents Four World Premieres In WINNING WORKS, 3/11-12

The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet in collaboration with Chicago Public Library present four world premieres in the seventh annual Winning Works program, the culmination of Joffrey's national call for ALAANA (African, Latino(a), Asian, Arab and Native American) artists to submit applications for the Joffrey Academy's Seventh Annual Winning Works Choreographic Competition.

Announcing Princeton Ballet School's 2017 Summer Intensive Guest Faculty

Princeton Ballet School, the official school of American Repertory Ballet, announces its guest faculty for its highly celebrated Summer Intensive program held in Princeton, N.J., from June 26-July 28, 2017. First held in 1981, Princeton Ballet School's Summer Intensive is one of the oldest in the United States. The final U.S. audition for the program before the audition tour goes oversees to Europe will be this Sunday, March 12 in New York City.

Marcelo Gomes Joins The Sarasota Ballet for A TRIBUTE TO ASHTON

The Sarasota Ballet is pleased to annouce that star of American Ballet Theatre (ABT), Marcelo Gomes, will be joing the Company as a guest artist for this production. Mr. Gomes will be performing the role of the Young Man in Ashton's The Two Pigeons for the Friday and Saturday evening performances. He is considered one of classical ballet's most sought-after male dancers, and has performed all over the world as a Principal dancer with ABT and as a guest dancer with companies such as the Bolshoi Ballet, the Mariinsky Ballet, The Royal Ballet, Dutch National Ballet and Matthew Bourne's New Adventures. He has been described by Alastair Macauley in The New York Times as 'Ballet Theater's central artist, the most natural dance-actor, the greatest of all partners,' and by Pia Catton in The Wall Street Journal  as a dancer whose 'jump explodes up with the boom of a bass drum-yet floats down with the grace of a violin note.'

Kathleen Turner and Delroy Lindo to be Masters of Ceremony at New York Live Arts 2017 Live Ideas Gala

New York Live Arts 2017 Live Ideas Gala, co-chaired by Sarah Arison, Slobodan Randjelovic, and Jon Stryker and with award-winning actors Kathleen Turner and Delroy Lindo as masters of ceremony, pays tribute to Live Arts' annual Live Ideas Festival. The Gala will take place at the Highline Ballroom, located at 431 W 16th Street, New York City on Monday, April 3 with a cocktail reception at 6:30pmfollowed by the dinner and program at 7:15pm.

111 Southern California Students Named as Semifinalists in The Music Center's 29th Annual Spotlight Program

The Music Center named 111 of some of Southern California's most talented high school students as semifinalists in The Music Center's 29th annual Spotlight (Spotlight) program, a free nationally-acclaimed scholarship and arts training program for teens.  An important part of The Music Center's fundamental support for arts education, Spotlight is more than a competition.  The program provides opportunities for Southern California high school students to acquire the skills they need to pursue their dreams in the performing arts, ranging from the development of performance abilities in numerous genres to roles in arts management, along with valuable workforce readiness skills.
