Burning Coal Theatre Company, a small professional, theatre based in Raleigh, North Carolina will conclude its 2008/2009 season with the world premiere of 1960, written by Ian Finley and the Burning Coal Theatre Company, directed by Jerome Davis, Burning Coal's Artistic Director. The production runs April 9 - 26, 2009 at Meymandi Theatre at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC. Performances are April 9 - 11, 16 - 18 and 23 - 25 at 7:30 pm and April 12, 19 and 26 at 2 p.m. All performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2 pm. All tickets are $20 or $15 (students, seniors 65+ and active military personnel). Thursday night tickets are $10 apiece accept for the opening night gala on April 9, which is $30. We also have $5 student rush tickets available 5 minutes before each performance. The first Sunday of the run, April 12th at 2 p.m. will be the 'Pay What You Can' performance. The first Saturday, April 11th at 7:30 p.m. will be audio described for the visually impaired. Producer Howard Panter for Ambassador Theatre Group and co-producers Tulchin/Bartner/Jenkins, Bill Kenwright, Northwater Entertainment, Darren Bagert, and Tom Gregory announced the complete cast and design team for the new Broadway production of the greatest musical comedy GUYS AND DOLLS. The first joint Broadway project by two-time Tony Award winning director Des McAnuff and choreographer Sergio Trujillo since their collaboration on the Tony Award winning musical Jersey Boys, GUYS AND DOLLS will begin previews on February 3, 2009 at Broadway's newly refurbished Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street). Montblanc presents The 24 Hour Company Production of THE 24 HOUR PLAYS ON BROADWAY on Monday, November 17th at the American Airlines Theatre. Proceeds benefit Urban Arts Partnership (formerly Working Playground), an organization that brings arts education into New York City classrooms.

This 20th Anniversary production of BOYS' LIFE will feature Jason Biggs, Rhys Coiro, and Peter Scanavino as 'the boys' as well as Dan Colman, Michelle Federer, Betty Gilpin, Paloma Guzman, Laura-Leigh, and Stephanie March.

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center has acquired the papers of renowned performers and acting teachers Uta Hagen and Herbert Berghof. The collection consists of thousands of pages of unpublished correspondence, diaries, scripts and manuscripts, photographs, clippings and other documentation relating to the dynamic theatrical careers of both Hagen and Berghof. This collection of professional and personal papers, spanning nearly 100 years of theater history, is being made public for the first time. To celebrate the bequest, the Library is planning a series of eight free public programs featuring many close friends and colleagues of Ms. Hagen and Mr. Berghof's including such figures as Harold Prince, Edward Albee, David Hyde Pierce and Eli Wallach. Programs take place in the Bruno Walter Auditorium in The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center located at 111 Amsterdam Avenue (between 64th and 65th streets).
