Katharine Heller Returns to Fringe with MY DAD'S CRAZIER... Solo Show, 8/13

By:

Dragonchase Productions presents Katharine Heller's return to the Fringe with her solo show, My Dad's Crazier Than Your Dad: A Scientific Inquiry at the 2010 New York International Fringe Festival, August 13- 27 at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street).

Sit in on a live experiment that questions the sanity of a particularly peculiar subject - Katharine's dad. This interactive, multimedia examination dissects the relationship between a father turned diet-guru turned Disney fanatic, and his bewildered family. Can her hypothesis be proven?

After her parents' difficult divorce when she was 11, Katharine has spent years trying to understand her father's strange behavior. She conceived of the show a few years ago after some convincing from friends who were equally fascinated with stories about her father. Utilizing the classic scientific method with photos, videos and anecdotes as proof, this presentation goes beyond your average lecture. As the audience is a major part of proving said theory, the show will differ from performance to performance.

Katharine Heller is no stranger to the Fringe; in 2007 she starred in the still running unscripted hit Naked in a Fishbowl (which Talkin Broadway called "Naked in a Fishbowl is one of the most exciting kinds of theatre possible.") And in 2008 Ms. Heller penned the Fringe hit The Boy in the Basement (called "Unabashedly fun!" Show Showdown and "Very funny and very well written" Talk Entertainment), which was also featured in the Encore Series. She continues to perform regularly in the original cast for the Off Broadway hit, Naked in a Fishbowl, now playing at the SoHo Playhouse. This is her second collaboration with director Nell Balaban, who received an award for Outstanding Direction at the 2008 NY Fringe Festival for The Boy in the Basement.
