Serenbe Playhouse continues it's 5th anniversay season, A Season of Journeys, with the world premiere of Ten Mile Lake, by Tira Palmquist. This production stars Bryan Brendle, Veronika Duerr and Mark Kincaid. Kincaid returns to Serenbe Playhouse for the first time since his Suzi award winning performance in Shipwrecked! An Entertainment.

Center Theatre Group Artistic Director Michael Ritchie has set the 11th season at the CTG/Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City.

The Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, High Museum of Art, and Young Audiences are thrilled to present the inaugural TODDLER TAKEOVER: an arts festival for the very young, this weekend, May 31-June 2, 2014, at the Woodruff Arts Center. This one of a kind experience will feature performances of all six original productions of the Alliance Theatre for the Very Young, the debut of the Atlanta Symphony's Music for the Very Young, side by side art making at the High Museum of Art, and an interactive play space hosted by Young Audiences artists.

Lewis' THE GREAT DIVORCE will be presented from Thursday, June 5, through Sunday, June 15, at the Alliance Theatre, Woodruff Arts Center, 1280 Peachtree St. NE in Atlanta. This journey to Heaven and Hell is a provocative exploration of human nature, featuring vivid characters drawn with Lewis' trademark wit.

Cleveland Play House enthusiastically welcomes dance legend Maurice Hines to Cleveland in the toe-tapping extravaganza, Maurice Hines is Tappin' Thru Life. Co-produced with Alliance Theatre and Arena Stage, CPH audiences will be dazzled by this infectious production, which brings the history of American tap to life. Directed by Tony-nominee Jeff Calhoun (Newsies) and featuring contemporary tap icons The Manzari Brothers and music from the all-female big band The Diva Orchestra, Tappin' Thru Life will dance its way onto PlayhouseSquare's Allen Theatre stage for an extended run from today, May 30 - June 29. Patrons will thrill to music from the Big Band Era all the way to Funk and Rock classics of the 70s and 80s at Aurora Swing Nights: Funktacular! concert on Saturday, June 21 at 8:00pm. Now a summertime tradition, this upbeat edition of the popular Swing Night concert series will feature the Metro Jazz Club performing a memorable array of rock 'n roll songs.

Queens Theatre (QT) is celebrating its 25th Anniverary with a Gala on June 2, 2014 at 6:00 pm at Queens Theatre (14 United Nations Avenue South, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens, NY 11368). The gala will honor Euripides Pelekanos who is the co-founder and CEO of Queens favorite burger spot, Bareburger.

Good morning, BroadwayWorld! Because we know all our readers eat, sleep and breathe Broadway, what could be better than waking up to it? Today's big news: Atlantic Theater Company's OUR NEW GIRL opens off-Broadway tonight, and BAKERSFIELD MIST, starring Kathleen Turner, kicks off in the West End!

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, John Behlmann, Melissa Errico and Will Swenson will star in BULL DURHAM, the new musical based on the beloved 1988 film, which Sports Illustrated proclaimed the '#1 Greatest Sports Movie of All-time.' BULL DURHAM will premiere at the Alliance Theatre on September 3, and will run until October 5. Swenson, who will play '"Crash" Davis', will appear in the new musical while on hiatus from the Broadway revival of Les Miserables, where he currently stars as Javert. Swenson will be gone July 22- October 5. A replacement has not yet been announced.

Bay Street Theatre presents the World Premiere of CONVICTION (Today, May 27-June 15) by Carey Crim and directed by Scott Schwartz, Bay Street's new Artistic Director. The production is co-produced by Bay Street Theatre, Rubicon Theatre in California, Dead Posh Productions, London and Canada's Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre.

Sideshow Theatre Company concludes its 2013-14 season with the world premiere of TYRANT by Artistic Associate Kathleen Akerley, co-directed by Kathleen Akerley and Ensemble Member Megan A. Smith, playing today, May 24 - June 29, 2014 at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago.

Tony Award-winning comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike will feature Resident Actor Jeffrey Bean as Vanya, Sharon Lockwood returning to the Alley as Sonia, Alley Artist Josie de Guzman returning as Masha, and Resident Actor Jay Sullivan as Spike. Rounding out the cast and making their Alley debuts are Rachael Holmes as Cassandra and Sarah Nealis as Nina. Jonathan Moscone, Artistic Director of California Shakespeare Theater, helms the production and returns after having directed the Alley's 2011 production of Amadeus.

Tony Yazbeck (Gypsy, A Chorus Line), Jay Armstrong Johnson (New York Philharmonic's Sweeney Todd, Hands On A Hardbody, Hair), and Clyde Alves (Bullets Over Broadway, Nice Work If You Can Get It) will play the roles of 'Gabey,' 'Chip,' and 'Ozzie' - the sailors on 24-hour shore leave who take on the Big Apple in the critically-acclaimed Broadway revival of ON THE TOWN, directed by John Rando (Tony Award for Urinetown) and choreographed by Joshua Bergasse (Emmy Award winner for 'Smash'). Yazbeck, Johnson, and Alves will reprise their performances from last summer's acclaimed Barrington Stage production. Yazbeck first thrilled audiences with his portrayal of 'Gabey' in John Rando's presentation of ON THE TOWN at City Center Encores in 2008.

Atlanta's nationally acclaimed Alliance Theatre and Jennings Hertz Artistic Director Susan V. Booth are pleased to announce a minor change to the 2014/15 Season lineup for the Alliance Stage. The 46th season includes seven exciting world premieres, including two new American musicals.

The National New Play Network (NNPN), the country's alliance of non-profit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, in collaboration with the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival and Stanford University's National Center for New Plays, will host nearly fifty playwrights, directors and dramaturgs July 26 - August 3, 2014 as part of a week-long workshop for new works by MFA students from New York University-Tisch School of the Arts, Hunter College, University of California-San Diego, and the Juilliard School. A committee of NNPN Core Members has selected six scripts written by Hilary Bettis, Nathan Cann, Bennett Fisher, David Jacobi, Georgette Kelly, and Amy Witting. The Workshop will also feature projects by the National Theatre School of Canada's Geoffrey Simon Brown and Atlanta's Alliance Theatre's Kendeda Graduate Playwriting Prize-winner Tsehaye Geralyn Hebert.

According to News Observer, Bull Durham is headed to Broadway. Bull Durham is a baseball rom-com from 1988 and is considered the best movie about any sport by Sports Illustrated. Over the years, Ron Shelton, the original writer and director, has been adapting the movie for the stage.
