A TOUCHING new comedy comes to The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury, later this year.

Theatre Royal Bath is delighted to announce a brand new production of SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, one of the most loved dance stories of all time, staged by Theatre Royal Bath Productions in association with the Robert Stigwood Organisation this autumn. Opening at the Theatre Royal Bath, Wednesday 12th to Saturday 22nd November, this iconic musical then embarks on a nationwide UK tour.

The Theatre Royal Bath has announced its 2014 Summer Season, comprising four productions and starring Clare Higgins, Tim Pigott-Smith, Alison Steadman and Felicity Kendal. Beginning on 18th June with Edward Albee's WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF, the season continues with KAFKA'S DICK by Alan Bennett, followed by THERESE RAQUIN by Emile Zola, and concludes on 6th September with Noel Coward's HAY FEVER.

Singular Sensations continues its autumn run at the Charing Cross Theatre as the multi-talented Janie Dee joins Edward Seckerson on Remembrance Sunday, Sunday 10th November at 3pm to talk about her glittering career.

Playwright Simon Mendes da Costa will take up his position next month and will head new playwriting sessions and be the leading player on a reading panel, which is also new.

Last night was the first night party for Michael Frayn's Here at Rose Theatre Kingston. In attendance were the cast (Alison Steadman, Zawe Ashton and Alex Beckett) and guests including Philip Glenister, Michael Frayn and Jacqueline Wilson. Check out the photographs below.

According to Whatsonstage, BBC series Gavin & Stacey could be getting the West End treatment in the near future. Co-creator Ruth Jones told the Evening Standard: 'We'd love to do Gavin & Stacey: The Musical. I know it is something James wants to do too. I saw Billy Elliot on stage the other day and I thought it would be something good to do. It's something I would definitely be up for.'

Baz Bamigboye reports in the London Daily Mail today that Alison Steadman has signed on to lead the cast of BLITHE SPIRIT as 'Madame Arcati' in the West End. Rehearsals are scheduled to begin sometime in late September and open at the Theatre Royal in Bath on November 3, 2010 for a limited run. Thereafter, Bamigboye reports, the show will tour the U.K. briefly before landing at the Apollo Theatre in the West End on March 2, 2011.

Jonathan Pryce has been honoured with a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) title from the Prince of Wales for his services to the dramatic arts. This order or chivalry is The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire established on 4 June 1917 by George V of the United Kingdom.
