Circus Performers Cirque Alfonse to Headline West End's BARBU

Hot on the heels of a critically acclaimed European premier in Edinburgh this year, Canadian Circus company Cirque Alfonse will headline the London Wonderground with the spectacularly raucous and sexy cabaret BARBU in Summer 2016. 

Theatre francais de Toronto to Welcome Cirque Alfonse for TIMBER

Theatre francais de Toronto and PANAMANIA, presented by CIBC, welcome Quebec's contemporary circus company Cirque Alfonse and their jaw-dropping spectacle TIMBER! Featuring line dancing, log throwing, daring axe juggling and acrobatic feats above the open blade of a huge two-man saw, TIMBER! will be presented July 23 to 25 at the Fleck Dance Theatre, Harbourfront Centre, as part of the Arts and Culture Festival PANAMANIA presented by CIBC.

Kingsbury Hall Presents Series Becomes UtahPresents

Since 2001, Kingsbury Hall Presents has offered an eclectic season of performing artists at Kingsbury Hall on the University of Utah campus. As part of an expanded mission that reaches beyond the boundaries of the Kingsbury Hall stage into other venues and spaces on campus and in the community, the performing arts series has become UtahPresents. This evolution and expansion will infuse the campus and community with unique arts experiences through both live performances and community engagement activities.

International Children's Theater Festival Set for Playhouse Square This Weekend

Each May, Playhouse Square brings the world to Cleveland through the International Children's Theater Festival presented by University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. One of only four such festivals in the country, Playhouse Square's offers children and families the opportunity to explore other cultures and enjoy the excitement of a visit to downtown Cleveland in a fun, welcoming environment.

Fox Cities P.A.C.'s 2015-16 Education Series to Include JUNIE B. JONES & More

The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center revealed the 2015-16 Bemis Company Education Series last night to a group of educators from the Fox Cities and Northeast Wisconsin. The series of daytime performances is comprised of titles that connect with grades PreK-12 curriculum. Highlights include  Junie B. Jones' Essential Survival Guide to School, Dallas Children's Theater's The BFG (Big Friendly Giant) and Ballet Folklorico "Quetzalli" de Veracruz.

Cirque Alfonse has created a show that combines original folk music and folklore and contemporary, cutting edge circus. Think modern circus meets Mumford & Sons/Williamsburg, complete with wooden props and hoops made directly from resources available at the forests and farms surrounding their hometown. Their costumes are flannel shirts and lumberjack boots. They juggle with axes while playing guitar! TIMBER! runs October 13-19 at NYU Skirball (566 LaGuardia Place). Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Will Host 2014 IPAY Showcase, Now thru 1/25

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has announcde that Pittsburgh International Children's Theater will host the International Performing Arts for Youth (IPAY) Showcase being held today, January 22-25, 2014, at venues throughout Pittsburgh's downtown Cultural District.

SAG Awards Presented Last Night; All the Winners!

SAG-AFTRA presented its coveted Actor® statuette for the outstanding motion picture and primetime television performances of 2013 at the "20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®" in ceremonies attended by film and television's leading actors, held Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center. The "20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®" was simulcast live coast-to-coast by TNT and TBS at 8 p.m. (ET) / 5 p.m. (PT). A live stream of the SAG Awards® was also available for viewing online at sagawards.tntdrama.com and tbs.com, as well as through the Watch TBS and Watch TNT apps for iOS or Android. An encore presentation was telecast on TNT at 10 p.m. (ET)/7 p.m. (PT).

Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Will Host 2014 IPAY Showcase, 1/22-25

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has announcde that Pittsburgh International Children's Theater will host the International Performing Arts for Youth (IPAY) Showcase being held January 22-25, 2014, at venues throughout Pittsburgh's downtown Cultural District. The IPAY Showcase is in its 37th year and will bring artists from around the world to Pittsburgh to perform in eighteen productions from seven countries, including four from the United States and three from Canada. The IPAY Showcase is presented in collaboration with the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and the Pittsburgh International Children's Festival.
