Photo Coverage: FOLLIES Starry Opening Night Theatre Arrivals

Last night, September 12, FOLLIES opened on Broadway at the Marquis Theatre. Performances began on Sunday, August 7th for James Goldman and Stephen Sondheim's FOLLIES, directed by Eric Schaeffer, with choreography by Warren Carlyle and music direction by James Moore. With a 28-piece orchestra, FOLLIES features a cast of 41 and stars two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters as Sally Durant Plummer, four-time Tony Award nominee Jan Maxwell as Phyllis Rogers Stone, two-time Tony Award nominee Danny Burstein as Buddy Plummer, three-time Emmy Award nominee Ron Raines as Benjamin Stone and Olivier Award winner Elaine Paige as Carlotta Campion. Manhattan Theatre Club's Broadway production of Terrence McNally's Tony Award-winning MASTER CLASS, directed by Stephen Wadsworth will close on September 4 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

2 Weeks Left To See Manhattan Theatre Club's MASTER CLASS, Closes 9/4

Manhattan Theatre Club's hit production of Terrence McNally's Tony Award-winning MASTER CLASS, directed by Stephen Wadsworth must end its extended engagement at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street) on Sunday September 4 after playing 26 preview performances and 70 regular performances. The play began previews on Tuesday, June 14 and opened Thursday, July 7 to rave reviews for the production and Tyne Daly's performance as the legendary Maria Callas. The production was extended twice due to popular demand.

MASTER CLASS to Be Featured on 'Charlie Rose' Tonight

Manhattan Theatre Club's hit production of MASTER CLASS will be on tonight's episode of 'Charlie Rose.' The episode will feature Tony and Emmy Award winner Tyne Daly and Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally and airs locally at 7 PM on Bloomberg (Time Warner Cable Channel 30) with an encore airing at 11 PM on WNET (Time Warner Cable Channel 13). DEBUT OF THE MONTH: Alexandra Silber of MASTER CLASS!

Alexandra Silber is currently making her Broadway debut as Sophie DePalma in MASTER CLASS alongside Tyne Daly, Sierra Boggess, Jeremy Cohen, Garrett Sorenson, and Clinton Brandhagen. Directed by Stephen Wadsworth, the show is playing a limited engagement through Sunday, September 4 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

Bryce Ryness, Lisa O'Hare to Lead Reprise Theatre Company's CABARET; Opens 9/13

Reprise Theatre Company's production of the classic American musical 'Cabaret,' which opens the 2011-2012 Reprise season and plays September 13 to 25 (press opening September 14, 2011) at UCLA's Freud Playhouse, includes a cast of new talents as well as Broadway and West End veterans - Zach Bandler as Ernst Ludwig, Lisa O'Hare as Sally Bowles, Jeff McLean as Cliff Bradshaw, Katrina Lenk as Fräulein Kost, Mary Gordon Murray as Fräulein Schneider, Robert Picardo as Herr Schultz and Bryce Ryness as the Master of Ceremonies.
