What's new in opera? Everything you can imagine--and much that you couldn't conceive of--all in the space of a few days in New York.

Producers Stage Entertainment, Bill Taylor (Sister Act, Rocky), Tom Kirdahy (It's Only A Play, The Visit) and Hunter Arnold (Kinky Boots, Spring Awakening) just announced complete casting for the new musical, ANASTASIA.

Classic Stage Company will present the comedy THE LIAR by David Ives, adapted from the play Le Menteur by Pierre Corneille, and directed by Michael Kahn, beginning previews tonight, January 11 at CSC (136 East 13th Street).  THE LIAR will have its official press opening Thursday, January 26 and play a limited engagement through Sunday, February 26.

The Tony Award winner for Best Musical, A Gentleman's Guide To Love & Murder tells the uproarious story of Monty Navarro, a distant heir to a family fortune who sets out to jump the line of succession by any means necessary.

According to an article in the New York Post, French playwright Jean-Etienne de Becdelievre has accused the producers of the upcoming Anastasia musical of plagiarizing material from his 1952 play titled 'Anastasia.'

A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder announced today that the First National Tour has recouped its entire capitalization. Making the news even more momentous, the tour reached this milestone during its current weeklong engagement in Hartford, CT - the city where Gentleman's Guide had its world premiere in 2012. The First National Tour launched on September 30, 2015.

If you like your Halloween entertainment a little on the wacky-creepy side, you will love Broadway in Detroit's “A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER” now on stage at the beautiful Fisher Theatre. A musical about a serial killer could never be more funny. This show won four Tonys at the 68th Tony Awards in June 2014, including Best Musical. It is based on the 1907 novel Israel Rank: The Autobiography of a Criminal by Roy Horniman and its screen adaptation, the 1949 British film Kind Hearts and Coronets. Characters in the play are penned after real-life English aristocrats, primarily a frivolous British Prime Minister.
