The Broadway community mourns the loss of Joseph Stein, who passed away Sunday at age 98. The marquees of Broadway theatres in New York will be dimmed in his memory on Thursday, October 28, at exactly 8:00pm for one minute.
This winter, the Geffen Playhouse is doing its part to spread contagious holiday cheer by presenting Neil Berg's critically acclaimed musical revue Broadway Holiday.
Tony Winner Donna McKechnie and Klea Blackhurst will join Cady Huffman as performers in the 42nd Street Moon Salons, which will hold two performances on October 13th and January 28th. The October 13th performanace, entitled 'I Feel A Song Coming On!' is a salon of Dorothy Fields songs and is lead by Tony Winner Cady Huffman. The January 28th salon is a tribute to Ira Gershwin, led by McKechnie. Also joining the cast is Klea Blackhurst, as well as Bill Fahrner, Alexandra Kaprelian and Darlene Popovich.
Broadway star Cady Huffman will perform at San Francisco's Alcazar Theatre on Tuesday, October 13 in a one night only engagement. The performance will begin at 7pm.
In 2009/10, 42nd Sreet Moon will begin a special series of ?Salon Evenings? at the Alcazar Theatre, intimate performances where Moon performers and special guest stars will celebrate in story and song the life and works of musical theatre composers and lyricists.
