The 1993 AIDS-themed musical ALL THAT HE WAS that opened on August 12, earning rave reviews and a Jeff recommendation, will extend its run by one week and will now close on Sunday, September 15.

Pride Films and Plays has announced that $5 of each ticket sold for each Friday 8pm performance of ALL THAT HE WAS, the Jeff-recommended musical that opened on Monday August 12, will go toward one of four Chicago-area charities that provides services and advocacy for those impacted by HIV/AIDS.

A/C Theatre Company's staging of Andrew Lippa's THE WILD PARTY, is a wildly engaging tribute to the roar of another decade and its edgy underbelly. Featuring Alanna Kalbfleisch in a defining role, the show runs through September 23rd at Phoenix Theatre's Hardes Theatre.

Considered a must-see, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was the first major hit for composer Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Sir Tim Rice. The Old Testament epic remains both timely as well as timeless. It is one of the most popular shows ever produced by Hale. The production was nominated for six Tony Awards on Broadway and won an Olivier Award for its London performances.

Wildly talented, vastly experienced director/choreographer Cambrian James' staging is at times crisp and clear and spot on.

Alanna Kalbfleisch is an utter delight to see and hear, with luminous skin, bright eyes and dimples in both cheeks and chin. Let's face it. She's eye candy. As Dot/Marie, the comfortable authority with which Kalbfleisch moves about the stage suggests a lifetime of performance. Her voice is off-the-charts resplendent, however she is by no means all flash. The nuances in her performance are breathtaking - her pure talent and spectacular range, vocal and dramatic, are world class.

The show, which originated at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater in Manhattan, has already had productions in Washington, D.C., Austin, Texas and Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
