The beloved children's classic and vintage film musical THE WIZARD OF OZ has been enthralling audiences for decades. Creative Cauldron is doing its part to keep the magic of L. Frank Baum's story and the tuneful adaptation we all know and love alive with a magical production that puts a spell over the audience and transports them with imagination and heartfelt performances.

Creative Cauldron announces American classic musical The Wizard of Oz, by L. Frank Baum with music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg, directed by Creative Cauldron Artistic Associate, Matt Conner. The story is the whirlwind journey of a Kansas farm girl, Dorothy, swept away to the magical Land of Oz where she meets a cast of iconic characters, like the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, on her journey home. Creative Cauldron will reimagine what the Library of Congress called 'America's greatest and best-loved homegrown fairytale' within their intimate black box theatre, featuring a virtuosic cast of local talent and an ensemble cast drawn from Creative Cauldron's new Professional Musical Theatre Workshop.

Just outside the hustle and bustle of Washington, DC, high quality theater is found at the NextStop Theatre Company in Herndon. BOEING BOEING, a delightful comedy, runs in the 114 seat theater through April 30.

"Dying is easy, comedy is hard". The old adage has been attributed to countless comedians over the years. When a musical comedy attempts to combine comedy and death, the outcome can either be successful (think Monty Python) or fall on its face. Ruthless! The Musical, a 1992 off Broadway campy musical, which opened this week at Creative Cauldron in Falls Church, falls into the latter category. The intermission-less show written by Marvin Laird and Joel Paley has funny bits, and a few memorable songs, but overall the piece, which has had a successful life in regional theater, is just flat. Sure, it spoofs musicals like Gypsy and movies like All About Eve, but the humor is a bit rudimentary and plays more like a bad SNL skit, then a well-polished farce.

Monumental Theatre Company's new production of URINETOWN proves a very timely look into politics, corporate control and crowd dynamics; however, some central problems cause the show and its company to struggle in their space.

The second installment in Creative Cauldron's 'Bold New Works for Intimate Stages' initiative, the new musical MONSTERS OF THE VILLA DIODATI transports audiences to a famous gathering of 19th-century writers on Lake Geneva during a dark and stormy summer. This atmospheric production reveals the origin story of two legendary Gothic monsters, John Polidori's The Vampyre and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, while exploring their creators' own inner monsters.

CAPS FOR SALE, THE MUSICAL will then pack up its caps on a National Tour, October 5-November 28, 2015, to over 17 cities and finally end its monkey business Off-Broadway at The New Victory Theater February 27- March 6, 2016.
