Classic Stage Company Launches BOOKS ON STAGE Reading Series with Dostoevsky Today, 11/12

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, will present its popular Books On Stage Reading Series, this season featuring stage adaptations of works by Fyodor Dostoevsky. Beginning today, November 12 at CSC (136 East 13th Street) at 7 pm, the company presents Crime and Punishment, featuring F. Murray Abraham, Michael Stuhlbarg and Joanne Tucker, directed by Anna Brenner.

Sonnet Repertory Theatre just announced that Nikki Renee Daniels (The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess) will be joining SRT's previously announced Benefit and Cabaret November 12 at 92YTribeca, honoring award-wining director, Julie Taymor. Celebrating Taymor's visionary career, this evening will feature some of Broadway's greatest talents and legends.

Joe's Pub Celebrates Final OUR HIT PARADE Shows, Ending 12/19

This December marks the end of OUR HIT PARADE, the "hilarious" (New York Post) live, top-ten countdown at Joe's Pub at The Public that has been the centerpiece of New York's downtown performance art scene for over five years. The final shows will be November 14 at 9:30 PM, followed by two specials on December 19 at 7:30 & 10:00 PM including a 2012 TOP TEN COUNTDOWN and HITS OF OUR HIT PARADE. CSC's IVANOV, Starring Ethan Hawke, Begins Performances

Classic Stage Company's new production of Anton Chekhov's IVANOV, starring Ethan Hawke, Joely Richardson and Juliet Rylance, and directed by Austin Pendleton, begins previews Wednesday, October 17 at CSC (136 East 13th Street), prior to an official opening Sunday, November 4. IVANOV has extended its run by popular demand through Sunday, December 9. Hawke, in the title role, Richardson, who will play Anna, and Rylance, who will play Sasha, will be joined in IVANOV by Glenn Fitzgerald (Borkin), Annette Hunt (Avdotya Nazarovna), Stephanie Janssen (Babakina), Roberta Maxwell (Zinaida), George Morfogen (Shabelsky), James Patrick Nelson (Kosykh), Anthony Newfield (Guest), Jonathan Marc Sherman (Lvov), Anne Troupe (Gavrila) and Louis Zorich (Lebedev).
