The Los Angeles Times has gotten the first look at the renovated Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre at the Old Globe. Originally a 224-seat, the seats were demolished and rebuilt as a 250-seat theatre and, although much of the theatre will look similar to an audience member, the Old Globe has done much to enhance the theatre-going experience.

It was announced today that the Donmar Warehouse production of A Streetcar Named Desire won the Theatre Award at the final South Bank Show Awards. The UK Daily Mail is reporting that LOVE NEVER DIES, the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera has already racked up a very impressive 8 million pound (nearly 13 million dollar) advance for the UK premiere production, a full three months ahead of the first performance.
The UK Daily Mail is reporting that Alan Bennett's The Habit of Art is hoping to move to Broadway in the Spring of 2011. The production began playing at the National Theatre's Lyttleton Theater in November 5, 2009 and will be broadcast in April 2010 live to cinema screens worldwide.
