The world-renowned Imagination Workshop was founded 40 years ago by Margaret Ladd, the award-winning actress and Founding Artistic Director, and her husband Lyle Kessler, the critically-acclaimed playwright, and Co-Founder of the organization. Today, the Imagination Workshop, a unique theatre company comprised of professional theatre artists collaborating with patients recovering from mood disorders and other mental illnesses, is one of the longest running Arts and Social Institutions in the country.
Court Theatre continues its 2008-09 season with Frederick Knott's classic thriller Wait Until Dark, directed by Resident Artist Ron OJ Parson. The production will run at Court Theatre, 5535 S Ellis Avenue, March 5 - April 5, 2009. The press opening is Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 8:00 p.m.

Producing Artistic Director Ted Pappas has announced the line-up for Pittsburgh Public Theater's 09/10 season. The six-play subscription series begins October 1, 2009 and runs through June 27, 2010. 'Our audiences will experience a season of infinite variety,' Pappas said. 'Included are Shakespeare's best-loved play, a musical about the greatest jazz singer of all time, and a ferocious tour-de-force starring a great actress. Add to that a British comic masterpiece from a living genius and friend, a Pulitzer Prize-winning romantic comedy by an American treasure, and a sweet surprise as the finale. This season has it all,' he said. In addition, The Public will present two special engagements.

The Nashville Jazz Workshop and the Frist Center for the Visual Arts present the popular series, Jazz on the Move, that feature a combination lecture and performance, presented by some of Nashville's top jazz artists and educators. The programs take place on a series of Sunday at 3 p.m. in the auditorium. All performances are free and open to the public. This series is made possible by an Arts Builds Communities (ABC) grant from the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission in cooperation with the Tennessee Arts Commission.

Production begins in Connecticut this week on an untitled contemporary comedy directed by Academy Award winner Sam Mendes (American Beauty) from an original screenplay by Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida.
