To celebrate The Second City's 50th Anniversary, the legendary comedy theatre will host a weekend of performances, panel discussions and screenings at its intimate theatres on Wells Street and in The Piper's Alley Complex in Chicago on Friday, December 11th through Sunday, December 13th. The world-famous Second City theatre is proud to announce the launch of 'The Second City's Neighborhood Tour.' This humorous and historic walking tour of Chicago's Old Town neighborhood will begin on July 19th, 2009 at 4pm and will continue every Sunday and Wednesday through October 4, 2009.

A touching homage to his father, Humor Abuse opens Philadelphia Theatre Company's 2009/2010 season at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre. The Second City - the timeless producer of improvisational based comedy - celebrates its milestone 50th Anniversary this fall with a series of events and happenings that will bring together alumni, recreate renowned sketches and characters, and bring the history of the theatre to life. Producing Artistic Director Ted Pappas has announced the line-up for Pittsburgh Public Theater's 09/10 season. The six-play subscription series begins October 1, 2009 and runs through June 27, 2010. 'Our audiences will experience a season of infinite variety,' Pappas said. 'Included are Shakespeare's best-loved play, a musical about the greatest jazz singer of all time, and a ferocious tour-de-force starring a great actress. Add to that a British comic masterpiece from a living genius and friend, a Pulitzer Prize-winning romantic comedy by an American treasure, and a sweet surprise as the finale.
