Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival, one of the world's major music festivals and a beloved summer New York tradition, opens its milestone 50th anniversary season with a series of events, including concerts featuring some of the world's greatest artists.

Brevard Symphony Orchestra (BSO) Music Director & Principal Conductor Christopher Confessore leads the BSO for the third subscription concert of the 2013-2014 season, Into the Spotlight, on Saturday, January 18, 2014, for two performances at 2:00pm and 8:00pm at the King Center for the Performing Arts. To begin the program, Maestro Confessore leads the BSO with Copland's wonderful and poignant Quiet City, followed by Mozart's charming Sinfonia Concertante. Beethoven's forward-looking and majestically-optimistic Symphony No. 2 closes the program. This concert will highlight the talents of BSO musicians: Concertmaster Lisa Ferrigno, Anita Juilianna (English horn), Tom Macklin (Principal Trumpet), Ken Martinson (Principal Viola).

The New York Philharmonic Very Young People's Concerts (VYPCs), for children ages 3 to 6, continue Sunday, January 5, 2014, at 12:30 and 3:00 p.m. and Monday, January 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Merkin Concert Hall, 129 West 67th Street.

Ensemble 212 presents Sonorous Strings: Orchestra Concert, the second show of its 2013-14 season tonight, November 13th at 8pm. Representative of a true kaleidoscope of styles, the evening will feature music of the Baroque and Romantic eras as well as that of the 20th and 21st centuries.

As part of its In the Salon series, Symphony Space presents the acclaimed Cassatt String Quartet in a program of American-themed pieces, Friday, November 22 at 7:30 pm in the Leonard Nimoy Thalia. The concert, which marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, is a musical exploration of the evolving notion of 'the American Dream,' with Antonin Dvorak's String Quartet No. 12, 'American' (1893) the oldest work on the program.

A student at the National Academy of Music (ANAM), Yap has been selected as the AWO Academy student which offers musicians on the cusp of a professional career an opportunity to perform with the AWO 'super-group'.
