Special Guests Set for Evan Solot Salute at Chris' Jazz Cafe, 6/12

On Friday, June 12 from 7 to 10 p.m., The Jost Project will perform at Chris' Jazz Cafe and salute a legend in Philadelphia - Composer Evan Solot. As Solot ends his final semester at the University of the Arts, where he taught for nearly 50 years, The Jost Project will perform their highly respected jazz renditions of classic rock and invite special guests to the stage who were all influenced by the great Evan Solot.

Goodspeed's 2015 Johnny Mercer Writers Colony to Showcase Works at 54 Below, 4/27

54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents the 2015 Johnny Mercer Writers Colony Concert, featuring the works of Colony participants Peter Cincotti and Pia Cincotti (The Last Laugh), Michael R. Jackson (A Strange Loop), Jean Rohe (The Odysseus Agreement), and Patrick Lundquist & Peter Seibert (Puccini). The Johnny Mercer Foundation (JMF) and Goodspeed Musicals are proud to co-produce the first New York City showcase of musicals developed at this one of a kind program.

April Hall Headlines Jazz Series Concert at the Black Box

THE BLACK BOX in downtown Franklin presents critically acclaimed jazz vocalist April Hall on Friday, April 24 at 8 p.m. The concert, rescheduled from February due to a Valentine's Day snowstorm, is featured as part of BLACK BOX Jazz, one of four dynamic music series launched this year at the new theater, music and event venue.

Ayla Brown, Opera for Kids & More Coming to FPAC in April

THE BLACK BOX, downtown Franklin's new theater, music, and event venue, presents a wide-ranging lineup of live music entertainment this April. Events are slated to feature singer-songwriter Ayla Brown, Opera for Kids, and jazz vocalist April Hall. THE BLACK BOX, the home of the Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC), is located at 15 West Central Street.

Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra to Present RAISE THE ROOF!, 2/28-3/1

This special Bainbride Symphony Orchestra program is one of celebration, community, and the American spirit. Through the generous support of the Fletcher Bay Foundation the BSO showcases its brand new set of timpani in American composer Michael Daugherty's thrilling concerto, Raise the Roof! performed by Gunnar Folsom. Kevin Puts won the Pulitzer Prize in 2010, and his work for orchestra, Millennium Canons, has its BSO debut in this winter concert, which also features the Introduction to Also sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss, Down a Country Lane and Variations on a Shaker Melody by Aaron Copland, and Antonin Dvo?ak's American Suite, op. 98b. Closing the performance in grand fashion is Beethoven's Chorale Fantasy featuring the BSO, Mark Salman on piano, and the Amabile Choir with Director Anne Pell. Singing of strength, unity and joy this masterpiece is the perfect end to this unique program.

The winners of the '46th NAACP Image Awards' were announced last night during the live broadcast from Pasadena Civic Auditorium which aired on TV One (9-11 p.m. ET live/PT tape-delayed). The two-hour live special was hosted by Anthony Anderson. There was a one-hour live pre-show from the red carpet hosted by Kevin Frazier and Shaun Robinson. Scroll down for the full list of winners!

THE BLACK BOX, downtown Franklin's new theater, music, and event venue, presents two special evenings of live music, featuring the April Hall Quartet on Valentine's Day and Celtic singer-songwriter Robbie O'Connell on February 20.

SONDHEIM ORIGINALS: OLD FRIENDS Set for 54 Below This Weekend

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Broadway favorites Ann Morrison ('Merrily We Roll Along'), Pamela Myers ('Company') & Chip Zien ('Into The Woods') in 'SONDHEIM ORIGINALS - OLD FRIENDS' this weekend, January 16 & 17, 2015. These three original Sondheim cast members share songs and stories, recalling their experiences creating their roles in these landmark musicals on Broadway. The show is conceived and directed by Grammy and Emmy Award winner, John McDaniel, as part of his second season as artistic director of the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's Cabaret and Performance conference.
