Music Theatre of Connecticut MainStage, Fairfield County's Award-Winning Professional Theatre Company, is pleased to announce the 2012/2013 MainStage Season. Between October 2012 and May 2013, MTCMainStage will present three fully-staged professional productions, each running for three weeks: 'Next to Normal,' 'Ancestral Voices' and 'The Cole Porter Project.'

Visitors to Philipsburg Manor on Labor Day weekend will experience a traditional Green Corn festival, a celebration of the Hudson Valley's Native American heritage, today through Monday, Sept. 1-3, from 10-5 each day.

Shakespeare Orange County will present William Shakespeare's MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING through September 1 at Garden Grove's Festival Amphitheatre ---outside and 'Under the Stars.' Set during the 1920s, this production features costumes and music of the era. The Festival Amphitheatre will allow audiences to enjoy watching the story of 'Beatrice and Benedick' unfold through the brilliant language and action of the play performed by professional actors from an open-air stage. It may be the final week of Lincoln Center Out of Doors, but the festival isn't winding down when it comes to exciting performances. This week, Lincoln Center celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the landmark Soul at the Center, highlighted by Valerie Simpson's first tribute to her late partner, Nick Ashford, since his passing. The pair that wrote such Motown hits as "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "Reach Out and Touch (Somebody's Hand)," and "I'm Every Woman," made their performing debut as a duo at Lincoln Center 40 years ago. The Tribute takes place on Friday, August 10 at Damrosch Park.

Center Theatre Group has announced that Robert Egan is set to direct Jon Robin Baitz's immensely entertaining "Other Desert Cities" at the Mark Taper Forum. The play that received a 2012 Tony nomination for Best Play will be presented in its West Coast premiere at the Taper and will close out the Taper's 45th season at the Los Angeles Music Center.

Multi-Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Seal will bring his North American tour to the Tennessee Performing Arts Center's Andrew Jackson Hall tonight, July 29th at 7:00 p.m.

The nominations have been announced for the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity's 2012 Awards Gala, taking place tonight, July 29 at 7:30pm at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (405 W. 55th Street). Among the nominees are three-time Tony Award-winner Hinton Battle (for directing & choreographing What We Do for Love or Other Desperate Measures) and recent Tony Award-nominee Patti Murin (for her performance in La Strega).

Shakespeare Orange County opens its twenty first season with the presentation of RICHARD III. The production runs tonight, July 19-August 4 at Garden Grove's open air Festival Amphitheatre ---outside and 'Under the Stars.' Returning to the Festival this season are John Walcutt as Richard, Evelyn Carol Case as Queen Elizabeth, and Amanda Zarr as Lady Anne. Veteran company member Carl Reggiardo directs this production.
