A new, ground-breaking production of "Dreamgirls," directed and choreographed by Robert Longbottom, arrives at the CTG/Ahmanson Theatre, opening March 2, 2010, and playing through April 4. Previews begin February 25. (Opening was previously announced for February 26.)

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Producing Artistic Director) in association with Snap-Two Productions, Inc. will present the World Premiere of Signs of Life a new musical, with book by Peter Ullian, lyrics by Len Schiff, music by Joel Derfner, music direction by Michael Pettry, and directed by Jeremy Dobrish.

DouglasPlus continues in 2010 with the return of 'Darwin,' a family-friendly theatre piece, January 23-30; and staged workshops of the new musical 'Post Office' by Melissa James Gibson and Michael Friedman, February 17-21.

Goblins, ghouls and ghosts of the 1980s haunt SCR's latest world premiere, Doctor Cerberus, which makes its debut April 11 - May 2 on the Julianne Argyros Stage.

The Joffrey Ballet under the direction of Ashley C. Wheater, Artistic Director, presents 'Cinderella'. Choreography by Sir Frederick Ashton. Music by Serge Prokofiev. 'Cinderella' will be performed from January 28 to 31, 2010 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

The cast has been announced for Amas Musical Theatre's production of SIGNS OF LIFE. The cast will be led by Erika Amato, Wilson Bridges and Kurt Zischke. Performances begin on February 16 at The Marjorie S. Deane Little Theatre.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes treated daughter Suri Cruise to evening out at the Ahmanson Theatre to see the LA engagement of the beloved stage musical, MARY POPPINS. This is the second time Suri has seen the world's most famous nanny on stage. Katie brought her to see the smash hit Broadway production in August 2008 during NY rehearsals for her own Broadway debut in Arthur Miller's All My Sons.

Celebration Theatre, in association with Calvin Remsberg, presents a special, limited return engagement of the Fall 2009 hit production F*CKING MEN. F*CKING MEN, written by Joe DiPietro and directed by Calvin Remsberg, opened at Celebration Theatre September 11, 2009 for a scheduled six week run.

Despite the acclaimed revival's premature closing, Michael X. will soldier on in this biz, as he has for 30-plus years.

Transport Group (TG), the winner of a special 2007 Drama Desk Award and a 2007 Obie Award, will present Mart Crowley's The Boys in the Band, directed by artistic director Jack Cummings III, beginning Friday, February 12, and opening Sunday, February 21, at 5pm in a site-specific production at 37 West 26 Street, between Broadway and Sixth Avenue, Penthouse.

Get ready for the holiday season with a new musical treat brought to you by Michael Feinstein and David Hyde entitled ‘The Michael Feinstein & David Hyde Pierce Holiday Show'. The show will play Feinstein's at Loews Regency December 1-30, according to the nightclub's official website. Show details have yet to be announced.

      A great way to celebrate the holiday season in Los Angeles is to spend it with Mary and Bert in the magical "Mary Poppins," which will have a special two-week holiday schedule including a 6:30 p.m. performance on New Year's Eve, Thursday, December 31, 2009, and 2 p.m. matinees on Wednesday, December 23, Thursday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 30. There will be no performances on Christmas and New Year's Day.  As one of the musical's beloved songs says, it'll be a "Jolly Holiday" at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre.

Martin Sheen will return to the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play that brought him a Tony Award nomination in 1964, and join with Frances Conroy and Brian Geraghty in 'The Subject Was Roses' by Frank D. Gilroy, it was announced today by Center Theatre Group Artistic Director Michael Ritchie. 'The Subject Was Roses' replaces the previously announced 'Speed-the-Plow' by David Mamet as the first production in the Taper's 2010 season at the Los Angeles Music Center, February 10 through March 21, 2010. Opening is set for February 21.

In the sixth week of a thirteen-week premiere engagement at The Ahmanson Theatre, the North American tour of MARY POPPINS has already achieved the milestone of being Los Angeles' highest grossing theatrical event in 2009.

West Coast Ensemble presents the fourth and final show of their 2009 season, THREE TALL WOMEN, written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Edward Albee and directed by Michael Matthews (Stupid Kids, The Bacchae).
