Merce Cunningham Activities Announced for LA, Kicks Off May 23

As part of the 2009-2010 season of Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at the Music Center, the world premiere of the reconstructed Roaratorio by Merce Cunningham will be presented at Walt Disney Concert Hall as part of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company's Legacy Tour, a final two-year celebration of the choreographer's lifetime of artistic achievement

Los Angeles' Reprise Theatre Company today announced it's 2010-2011 season, which features three classic American musicals at UCLA's Freud Playhouse: 'They're Playing Our Song' (September 28 to October 10, 2010), with music by Marvin Hamlisch, lyrics by Carole Bayer Sager and book by Neil Simon, and starring Jason Alexander, the company's Artistic Director; Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's 'Gigi' (February 15 to 27, 2011); and Cole Porter's 'Kiss Me, Kate' (May 10 to 22, 2011), with book by Samuel and Bella Spewack.

Light and Harman Star In Sheffield Theatres Productions' TRUE WEST May 13-June 5

Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at the Music Center announces the eighth season of this international dance series. Seven companies representing the United States, Spain, Brazil, the Netherlands, and Cuba, will participate in 32 performances at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and Ahmanson Theatre, in a season that is the largest and most culturally diverse in the history of the series.

To enhance Orange County theater-going when the national tour of the smash hit musical DREAMGIRLS visits April 21 - May 2, the Center has scheduled two post-performance talkbacks with cast members on April 22 and 29. During the talkbacks, which will follow the performances in Segerstrom Hall, audience members can speak to the cast and ask questions. The talkbacks are free, but tickets to the April 22 and 29 performances of DREAMGIRLS are required.
