Priscilla has a book by Australian film director/writer Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott, using well-known pop songs as its score. Adapted from Elliott's 1994 Oscar-winning film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, the musical is the heart-warming, uplifting adventure of three friends who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship and end up finding more than they could have ever dreamed of. With a dazzling array of over-the-top costumes, extraordinary headdresses, A FULL SIZE BUS - ON STAGE, and a hit parade of dance floor favorites, this wildly fresh and funny musical is a journey to the heart of FABULOUS.

Bay Area Musicals (Matthew McCoy, Founder & Artistic Director, and AeJay Mitchell, Managing Director) announced today that the theatre company's 2018 gala fundraiser, A Twist of Limelight, will star Tony Award-nominated actress Carmen Cusack (Bright Star, Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables) in a special performance. All proceeds of the evening will support upcoming productions by Bay Area Musicals! The gala will be held at San Francisco's Alcazar Theatre on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Tickets to this one-night-only event range from $45.00 - $175.00 and are available now at www.bamsf.org/twist-of-limelight.

Theatre Rhinoceros presents Priscilla, Queen of the Desert - The Musical, with a book by Australian film director-writer Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott, using well-known pop songs as its score, directed by John Fisher, with msical direction by Dan Feyer and choreography by AeJay Mitchell. The show will run May 27 - July 1, 2017.

The show will feature Jeffrey Brian Adams* (Promises, Promises), Jordan Bridges, Caitlin Brooke, Nikita Burshteyn, Brandon Dahlquist*, Sally Dana*, Kathryn Hart, Andrew Humann, Amy Lizardo*, AeJay Mitchell, and Michael Gene Sullivan*.

In 1975, filmmakers Albert and David Maysles brought their cameras into the crumbling, palatial estate of Edith Bouvier Beale (the aunt of Jackie Kennedy) and her daughter, Little Edie. There they found two women ostracized from their community, hanging on to reality by a thread, and surrounded by dozens of cats and raccoons. Grey Gardens, the Musical examines both the back-story of this fascinating family and the fate they couldn't possibly have imagined. It was the first musical on Broadway ever to be adapted from a documentary.
