El Teatro Presents BONFIRE OF THE VANITIES: THE OPERA, October 9-10th 2015

The very first theatrical adaptation of Tom Wolfe's era-defining novel hits the stage this October 9th and 10th at New York's El Teatro at El Museo del Barrio! With music by Stefania de Kenessey and a libretto and direction by Michael Bergmann, this new opera, as large in scope as New York itself, takes on the universal socioeconomic tensions of the island that is home to both Wall Street and Harlem.

Brian Stokes Mitchell Joins 10th Anniversary Benefit of Young At Arts, 4/20

Tony winner Brian Stokes Mitchell joins more than 100 children at Young At Arts (YAA), a community-based performing arts program that gives out scholarships to deserving young students, to celebrate YAA's 10th anniversary via its annual benefit titled 'Broadway to Bronxville' today, April 20, at Christ Church (17 Sagamore Road, Bronxville, N.Y.) at 6:30 p.m.

Opera Delaware Presents THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE, 2/20-22

On February 20 & 22, OperaDelaware presents This Little Light of Mine, a 'living documentary' about the lives and careers of Marian Anderson and Leontyne Price. Soprano Adrienne Danrich presents her original Emmy Award winning program commissioned by the Cincinnati Opera for our lucky audiences at the OperaDelaware Studio.

Featuring Cameron Adams, Wendi Bergamini, Catherine Brunell, Paula Leggett Chase, Margot de La Barre, Rayanne Gonzales, Joy Hermalyn, Leah Horowitz, Autumn Hurlbert, Andrea Jones-Sojola, Jessica Molaskey, Sydney Morton, Elena Shaddow, Laura Shoop, Georgia Stitt and Rema Webb.

On Dec. 3 Sony Masterworks will release the companion soundtrack to NBC's live broadcast of 'The Sound of Music,' based on the classic stage musical. The three-hour live production, starring six-time Grammy Award winner Carrie Underwood as Maria von Trapp, will air Dec. 5. This week the team is recording THE SOUND OF MUSIC cast album. AOP and Phoenix Concerts Present 'AOP25: Celebrating Composers & the Voice' Concert Tonight

AOP (American Opera Projects) and The Phoenix Concerts will co-produce 'AOP25: Celebrating Composers & the Voice,' a concert featuring the work of composers and librettists from AOP's C&V (Composers & the Voice) program, an annual fellowship that trains composers to write for the operatic voice. The concert will take place tonight, October 11 at 8PM at the Church of Saint Matthew and Saint Timothy: 26 West 84th Street, New York City.

Little Opera Theatre of NY to Celebrate Bastille Day with LIBERTE, EGALITE, ET FRATERNITE, 7/14

This Bastille Day, the little OPERA theatre of ny, in partnership with Socrates Sculpture Park, will present an afternoon of free French opera with LIBERTE, EGALITE, et FRATERNITE. On Sunday, July 14th, at 3:00pm the concert will take place on the Long Island City waterfront at Socrates Sculpture Park, and feature scenes from operas that voice the spirit of the French revolution. (Rain date: Monday, July 15 at 6:30pm.)

On World AIDS Day, December 1, 2012, Sing for Hope marked the twentieth anniversary of the classical music world's first organized response to the AIDS crisis with the celebratory concert 'AIDS Quilt Songbook @ TWENTY.' The evening featured impassioned performances by many of the country's leading classical vocalists, including Amy Burton, Adrienne Danrich, Heather Johnson, Suzanne Mentzer, Sidney Outlaw, Randall Scarlata, Michael Slattery, Monica Yunus, Camille Zamora, and two of the baritones of the 1992 premiere, Kurt Ollmann and William Sharp.
