Adrian Lester and Hattie Morahan took the prizes for Best Actor and Actress at today's Critics' Circle awards, hosted by Mark Shenton and introduced by comedian Arthur Smith, at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London.

According to the Daily Mail, Olivia Vinall will play Desdemona opposite Adrian Lester as Othello in the National Theatre's upcoming production of Shakespeare's tragedy, directed by Nicholas Hytner. Othello will open in April 2013.

Producers NELLE NUGENT and KENNETH TEATON welcome STEPHEN BYRD and ALIA JONES as producing partners on the Broadway production of THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, starring Academy Award nominee and three-time Emmy Award winner CICELY TYSON, Academy Award winner CUBA GOODING, JR, (Jerry Maguire, Red Tails), Emmy Award nominee and recording star VANESSA WILLIAMS (Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives), and Tony Award nominee CONDOLA RASHAD (Lifetime's Steel Magnolias, Broadway's Stick Fly). Directed by MICHAEL WILSON, this 14-week limited engagement will begin previews on Easter Sunday, March 31st at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 W 43rd St). Opening night is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23rd.

The acclaimed Broadway production of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by Emily Man, takes its final Broadway bows on its original closing date, today, July 22, 2012. The show is aiming to open on London's West End this fall.

The Broadway production of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire was awarded the Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway Award for the 2011-2012 Season from Actors' Equity Association (AEA) on Tuesday. The show, produced by Front Row Productions (Stephen Byrd, Alia Jones-Harvey), received the honor at a presentation at Equity headquarters. Christine Toy Johnson and Julia Breanetta Simpson (AEA Co-chairs Eastern Regional Equal Employment Opportunity Committee) presented the award, which turns the spotlight onto those doing exemplary work to promote the goals of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity in theatre. Indhu Rubasingham has announced her inaugural season at The Tricycle, which will launch with the World Premiere of Red Velvet, written by Lolita Chakrabarti with Adrian Lester in the role of Ira Aldridge; followed by The Tricycle's first festive family show, The Arabian Nights, written by Mary Zimmerman and adapted from The Book Of The Thousand Nights and One Night. In 2013, The Tricycle present an Eclipse Theatre production of One Monkey Don't Stop No Show, by Don Evans, followed by another World Premiere: Paper Dolls, written by Philip Himberg and adapted from the award-winning documentary by Tomer Heymann, produced by Stanley Buchthal.

The acclaimed Broadway production of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by Emily Man has cancelled its previously announced summer extension, and will now take its final Broadway bow on its original closing date- July 22. BroadwayWorld has learned that the show might be moving to London, aiming for a Fall 2012 opening.

Mayor Michael Nutter announced today that James Earl Jones-one of the country's most critically acclaimed stage and screen actors-will receive the 2012 Marian Anderson Award. Mr. Jones will accept the Award at a Gala Concert produced in partnership with The Philadelphia Orchestra on Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

The acclaimed Broadway production of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by Emily Man will extend its run through August 19, 2012. Streetcar began performances on April 3 and opened on April 22 and was originally set to end its limited run on July 22 at the Broadhurst.

A Streetcar Named Desire starring Blair Underwood as Stanley, Nicole Ari Parker as Blanche, Daphne Rubin-Vega as Stella and Wood Harris as Mitch, began previews for its limited Broadway run at the Broadhurst Theatre on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, and celebrates its opening tonight, Sunday April 22, 2012. The production will run through July 22, 2012.
