New York City's Department of Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce Will Ryman's inaugural public art exhibition The Roses, featured on the Park Avenue Malls between 57th and 67th Streets from January through May 2011.

Parks & Recreation Commissioner Adrian Benepe today announced the appointment of Adena Long as Borough Commissioner of Staten Island. Adena has over a decade of experience working for Parks, most recently as Principal Strategic Planner.

Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce that Tavern on the Green will be back in business with a variety of food offerings to be available on the outdoor terrace facing the Sheep Meadow. On October 15, 2010, Tavern on the Green will begin featuring offerings from Ladle of Love, Pera Mediterranean Brasserie, Rickshaw Dumpling Truck and Van Leeuwen Artistan Ice Cream, on the site's outdoor terrace.

New York City's Department of Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce an exhibition of new sculptures by Mia Westerlund Roosen on Park Avenue from April 19 through August 28, 2010. The current exhibition features three new works, Juggler, Baritone, and French Kiss on the Park Avenue Malls in the landscaped medians between 52nd Street and 53rd Street.

Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe joined Council Member Debi Rose broke ground Thursday, August 26th on the $1.7 million renovations to Mahoney Playground. The Playground is located at Beechwood Avenue, between Cleveland St. and Crescent Ave. on Staten Island.

Ambrosini Ballfields and Playground have been named New York City's Park of the Month. The fields is located on City Island, in northeastern Bronx, which offers opportunities ranging from boating to playing ball. Ambrosini, the only public field complex and playground, form a recreational centerpiece on the island, attracting year-long residents and visitors alike.
