Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell will star in The Band Wagon, an Encores! Special Event based on the classic MGM movie of the same title, from tonight, November 6, through November 16, 2014 at City Center. The Band Wagon will open on Sunday, November 8.
According to the New York Post, director and choreographer Kathleen Marshall could be "shepherding" Encores! THE BAND WAGON to Broadway before the Tony Awards cutoff.
The new Broadway revival of ON THE TOWN will be recorded today, November 3, for a two-disc cast album to be released by PS Classics. ON THE TOWN, which features a book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, music by Leonard Bernstein, and is based on an idea by Jerome Robbins, is currently running at Broadway's Lyric Theatre (213 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036).

Broadway's timeless family musical Peter Pan will launch FPAC's 24th season and premiere year in THE BLACK BOX, the company's new home and performance venue in downtown Franklin. FPAC's production of this soaring, magical adventure will be presented today, October 17-19 and 24-26 with live professional orchestra and the spectacular aerial effects of Flying By Foy.
Kean University's Department of Theatre will present a classic comedy of manners, the winner of the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, a family-friendly musical about a boy who famously refuses to grow up, and a play for young audiences based on the playwright's interviews with real-life middle school students as part of its much-anticipated 2014-2015 season.
