Every once in a while a theatre production emerges that defies the standard board of fare to which we've grown accustomed. MBS Productions upcoming World Premiere of the latest original work by playwright Bretton B. Holmes titled Hotel California is one such example.
Our Productions Theatre Co. is anything but ordinary. Neither is the first musical of their 2015 Inaugural Season, Ordinary Days. The regional premiere of the acclaimed new production, is written by Adam Gwon, a composer and lyricist named one of '50 to Watch' by The Dramatist magazine, and winner of the 2008 Fred Ebb award for excellence in musical theater songwriting. Gwon's musical Ordinary Days recently enjoyed a sold-out run at the Finborough Theatre in London, after making its world premiere at Pennsylvania Centre Stage and appearing in the 2008 NAMT Festival of New Musicals and the 2008 ASCAP/Disney Musical Theatre Workshop. Signature Theatre has announced casting is confirmed and tickets are now on sale for the world premiere of The Painted Rocks at Revolver Creek, written and directed by Athol Fugard. The production runs April 21 to May 31 with a May 11 opening night in The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Widely admired for his innovative projects, composer/maker/visual artist Tristan Perich is pleased to announce the launch of Compositions, a series of four creatively packaged recordings coming out this year on his imprint, Physical Editions. Each Compositions release spotlights a single work by Perich for acoustic instruments plus 1-bit electronics. The first is Parallels (50', 2013), performed by the Meehan/ Perkins Duo and released today, March 24. Further releases in the series include Telescope (May), Dual Synthesis (August), and Active Field with Ensemble Signal (November); details appear below.

Ms. Verrez, the first place winner of the 2014 Mary Trueman Vocal Art Song Competition sponsored by the Art Song Preservation Society, will present works by Brahms, Monteverdi, Poulenc, Duparc, Canteloube among others.
