MTC Announces Full Cast for CHOIR BOY; Beltran, Cooper & More

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director), Barry Grove (Executive Producer), and Mandy Greenfield (Artistic Producer) have just announced full casting for the upcoming world premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney's CHOIR BOY, the new play featuring gospel music directed by Trip Cullman.

City Theatre to Stage Elaine Murphy's LITTLE GEM, 3/30-5/5

City Theatre presents Little Gem, a lively, new comedy by Irish playwright Elaine Murphy. Directed by Kimberly Senior, Little Gem runs from March 30 to May 5, 2013 in City Theatre's Hamburg Studio Theatre, with an Opening Night performance on Friday, April 5 at 8pm.

Playwrights Horizons Extends THE FLICK Through April 7

Due to popular demand, Playwrights Horizons has announced an extension of its critically-acclaimed, sold out World Premiere production of The Flick, a new play by the heralded Obie Award-winning playwright Annie Baker (Circle Mirror Transformation at PH, The Aliens, her recent adaptation of Uncle Vanya). Originally set to play a limited engagement through Sunday, March 31, the production has extended to Sunday, April 7 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

Julian Sheppard's OWNED to Begin Previews at TBG Theatre, 4/26

Knife Edge Productions will present the World Premiere of OWNED by Drama Desk Award nominee Julian Sheppard. Directed by Sam Helfrich, previews begin April 26 at TBG Theatre. Opening night is slated for Thursday, May 2.

Lily Rabe to Lead MISS JULIE at Geffen Playhouse; Opens 5/1

Tony nominee Lily Rabe (American Horror Story, Merchant of Venice) joins Broadway actress Laura Heisler (Lucille Lortel and Drama League nominee) and Logan Marshall-Green (Julie Taymor's Across the Universe) for Tony nominee Neil LaBute's world premiere adaptation of August Strindberg's Miss Julie. The production is directed by Obie Winner Jo Bonney, who has directed the Geffen Playhouse productions of LaBute's Some Girl(s), The Break of Noon and Fat Pig. She also directed the theater's West Coast premiere production of By the Way, Meet Vera Stark.

Actors Theatre of Louisville to Present O GURU GURU GURU as Part of 2013 Humana Festival, 3/20-4/7

Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein have announced O Guru Guru Guru, or why I don't want to go to yoga class with you by Mallery Avidon, directed by former Actors Theatre directing intern Lila Neugebauer. The play will run in the Victor Jory Theatre beginning on March 20, opening March 22 and running through April 7th. The production is part of the 37th Humana Festival of New American Plays, made possible by a generous grant from the Humana Foundation.

Profiles Theatre continues its 2012-2013 Season with the Midwest Premiere of The Dream of Burning Boy by West Read, directed by Artistic Director Joe Jahraus. The production, which was postponed due to a cast health matter, will continue performances tonight, March 7, 2013.

Burning Coal Theatre Company's NOCTURNE Begins 3/14

Burning Coal Theatre Company's 'Wait Till You See This' series and Mortall Coile Theatre Company presents Adam Rapp's Nocturne, directed by Dana Marks, and featuring Jesse Gephart. Nocturne will run March 14th-24th, 2013 at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm (March 14-16, 21-23) and Sundays at 2 pm (March 17th and 24th.) All tickets are $10. C.J. Wilson to Replace Adam Rapp in THE BIG KNIFE

It was just announced that C.J. Wilson has joined the company of Roundabout Theatre Company's The Big Knife to play the role of 'Hank Teagle.' C.J. Wilson replaces Adam Rapp who departed the production due to scheduling conflicts. Rehearsals for the production began February 19th and performances will begin on March 22.

Circle Theatre to Stage Midwest Premiere of DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY, 4/20-5/26

Circle Theatre presents the Chicago premiere of DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY, directed by Elizabeth Margolius. A romantic love story, written by a trio of musical theatre greats, Death Takes a Holiday will transport audiences to the post-war Italian countryside. The show feaures music & lyrics by Maury Yeston and book by Peter Stone and Thomas Meehan.
