Rehearsals are now underway for the Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) New York premiere of PRAYER FOR MY ENEMY, a new play by two-time Tony Award nominee, Pulitzer Prize finalist and two-time Obie Award winner Craig Lucas (Small Tragedy at Playwrights Horizons, The Light in the Piazza, Prelude to a Kiss, Reckless, The Dying Gaul).

Intiman Theatre announces the addition of Shakespeare's Othello, directed by Artistic Director Bartlett Sher, to its 2009 schedule. This will be Sher's first production of Shakespeare's tragedy and his fourth production of a Shakespeare play at Intiman, where he has been Artistic Director since 2000.

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that Bartlett Sher has been named Resident Director of the Theater. As Resident Director Mr. Sher will have an office at LCT, consult with Artistic Director Andre Bishop on artistic matters and direct one LCT production each year.

Playwrights Horizons, under the leadership of Artistic Director Tim Sanford and Managing Director Leslie Marcus, has announced additional casting and details for its 2008/2009 Season.

Julie Foldesi, current cast member of Lincoln Center's South Pacific, will play Joe's Pub on Monday, November 10, 2008 as part of the Ghostlight series. Playing with Julie are Claudia Chopek, Michael Croiter, Doug Derryberry, Lori Eure, Jordan Jancz, Dick Neal, and Cary Scope.

West Coast Ensemble presents the West Coast Premiere of Christopher Durang's MISS WITHERSPOON, directed by Joel Swetow (The Cherry Orchard, Twelfth Night). MISS WITHERSPOON will preview Sunday, October 26 at 3pm; Wednesday, October 29; Thursday, October 30; and Friday October 31 at 8:00pm and will open on Saturday, November 1 at 8:00pm and continue through Sunday, December 14 at the new home of West Coast Ensemble - The El Centro Theatre, 800 N. El Centro Ave. in Hollywood.

New York's eternally boundary-pushing theater company Naked Angels (Geoffrey Nauffts, Artistic Director and Brittany O'Neill, Managing Director) presented the official Off Broadway premiere of Fault Lines, on September 30th, 2008. The new play by Stephen Belber is directed by David Schwimmer. Performances began Monday, September 22 at The Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street).

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced additional casting and details for the third production of its 2008/2009 Season, the New York premiere of PRAYER FOR MY ENEMY, a new play by two-time Tony Award nominee, two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist and two-time Obie Award winner Craig Lucas (Small Tragedy at Playwrights Horizons, The Light in the Piazza, Prelude to a Kiss, Reckless, The Dying Gaul). PRAYER FOR MY ENEMY is the first of two plays by Mr. Lucas that will receive their New York premiere this season.

Broadway star Jason Danieley, and his band The Frontier Heroes, will be performing songs off her their debut album, JASON DANIELEY AND THE FRONTIER HEROES, as well as signing copies for fans. Tony Nominee Marin Mazzie will be making a special appearance onstage as well as at the signing table.

Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, September 17 at 10:00 AM, Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) will be accepting entries for its popular LIVEforFIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to its next production, the World Premiere of KINDNESS, a new play written and directed by Adam Rapp (Essential Self-Defense at Playwrights Horizons, Red Light Winter). Directed by Tony Award nominee Wilson Milam (The Lieutenant of Inishmore), the production will begin previews on Friday, August 22, 2008 with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, September 16. The limited engagement will run through Sunday, September 28 at Playwrights Horizons Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

Following her sold-out engagement last spring, Anna Bergman returns to the stage of 'the nightclub of New York,' Feinstein's at Loews Regency (540 Park Avenue @ 61st Street) for the opening of its 10th Anniversary season. On September 14th, 15th and 21st (8:30PM) Anna will present her new show, My Heart Stood Still: The Love Songs of Richard Rodgers with special guest, Broadway veteran, Brent Barrett.

Before heading to Broadway, the incomparable Mark Nadler will bring his one-man comedy-in-music adventure, 'Russian on the Side,' to the Marines Memorial Theatre (609 Sutter Street, 2nd floor) for a limited engagement beginning October 16, 2008. The Carlyle Hotel (James McBride, Managing Director) welcomes the return of John Pizzarelli & Jessica Molaskey, the gifted husband-and-wife team, as they open the fall entertainment season in the legendary Café Carlyle. Beginning Tuesday, September 9th and playing through Saturday, November 1st, Mr. & Mrs. Pizzarelli, who made their debut engagement in May 2007, will once again grace the stage to present an entertaining evening of romantic ballads and swinging jazz tunes, including songs from each of their latest recordings: 'With A Song in My Heart' (Telarc, 2008), Mr. Pizzarelli's tribute to composer Richard Rodgers, and 'A Kiss to Build a Dream On' (Arbors Records, 2008), a sophisticated collection of 15 of Ms. Molaskey's favorite tunes. Mr. Pizzarelli (guitar and vocals) will lead a quartet consisting of younger brother Martin Pizzarelli (bass), Larry Fuller (piano) and Tony Tedesco (drums).

Intiman Theatre announces the schedule of free public programs for its upcoming American Cycle production of Robert Penn Warren's All the King's Men, which will run September 26-November 8 at the Intiman Playhouse, 201 Mercer Street at Seattle Center. The play, which will be performed by an ensemble of 18 actors, is adapted by Adrian Hall and directed by Pam MacKinnon.
