Circle X Theatre Co. is thrilled to announce the world premiere of a new play, ICU, written by Fielding Edlow and directed by Brian Shnipper.

The Hypocrites are thrilled to launch their 2015-16 season with the Chicago premiere of the smash Broadway musical AMERICAN IDIOT, featuring music by Grammy Award-winning punk rock band Green Day, book by Green Day frontman/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer and lyrics by Armstrong, direction by Steven Wilson, musical direction by Andra Velis Simon and choreography by Katie Spelman. AMERICAN IDIOT will play tonight, August 28 - October 25, 2015 at The Den Theatre's Heath Main Stage, 1329 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood.

Aurora Theatre Company opens its 24th season with the Bay Area Premiere of award-winning playwright Marisa Wegrzyn's (Hickorydickory, The Butcher of Baraboo) MUD BLUE SKY.

The Avenue Theater presents BRIGHT IDEAS previewing tonight, August 27, and opening on August 28 at 417 E. 17th Ave, CO, 80203.

Dark & Stormy Productions today announces the producers, venue, and partners for its upcoming production of Extremities by William Mastrosimone. Previously, Dark & Stormy has presented Outside Providence by Edward Allan Baker, Speed-the-Plow by David Mamet, The Receptionist by Adam Bock, The Drunken City by Adam Bock, and The Hothouse by Harold Pinter. Extremities will be the first production of Dark & Stormy's 2015 season.

Dead Posh Productions is thrilled to be bringing Pig Farm, by Tony Award® winning writer Greg Kotis, to the St. James Theatre for its UK Premiere. Dead Posh Productions will be co-producing alongside Julian Stoneman Associates, who brought the smash hit Urinetown The Musical, by the same author and to the same theatre, before its transfer to the Apollo Theatre. Pig Farm has a limited run at the St. James Theatre from 21 October until 21 November, with press night on 28 October. The creative team and full casting will beannounced in due course. 

Nashville Repertory Theatre is proud to announce its Ingram New Works Lab Playwrights for the 2015-16 season.

Next up on the Main Stage, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will present the New Jersey premiere of Bill Cain's Equivocation. When the Bard and his troupe of players receive a royal commission to dramatize the events surrounding the infamous Gunpowder Plot, the artist must confront the demons of his past, his present, and his obligations to the truth and artistic integrity. Equivocation was described in Variety as "one of the most bracingly intelligent, sizzlingly theatrical American plays in a decade."

Or does it? BELIEVERS by Ken Jaworowski, a haunting drama, tests that assumption with the generational tale of a couple who marry in a state of faith but find their belief undone twenty years later when life tests them more severely than people ought to be. WorkShop Theater, 312 West 36th Street, will present the play's world premiere run September 25 to October 17, directed by Alex Dmitriev.

Playwrights Horizons begins accepting entries today, Wednesday, August 19, for the LIVEforFIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to their New York premiere of THE CHRISTIANS, a new play by Lucas Hnath (A Public Reading of an Unproduced Screenplay About the Death of Walt Disney, Isaac's Eye, Death Tax).  Directed by Obie Award winner Les Waters (Doris to Darlene at PH; the recent 10 Out of 12; In the Next Room, or the vibrator play; Big Love; eurydice), the play is the opening production of the theater company's 2015/2016 Season, and it's a co-production with L.A.'s Center Theatre Group (Michael Ritchie, Artistic Director; Stephen D. Rountree, Managing Director).

Geffen Playhouse just announced the cast for the West Coast premiere of GUARDS AT THE TAJ by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Steinberg Award recipient Rajiv Joseph. Raffi Barsoumian will star as Humayun, opposite Ramiz Monsef as Babur.

Brand new play incubator Brooklyn Yard presents a showcase production of STORM, STILL, a three-person adaptation of King Lear, by playwright Gabrielle Reisman, in Reisman's own backyard in south Bushwick this fall.

The All-Americans present the World Premiere of SCHOOLED, written by Lisa Lewis and directed by James Kautz (Artistic Director of The Amoralists), as part of The New York International Fringe Festival. SCHOOLED runs from tonight, August 15, through August 27, 2015 at The Robert Moss Theater (Venue #15), located at 440 Lafayette Street between Astor Place and East 4th St., across the street from The Public Theater in New York City. Seascape with Sharks and Dancer by Don Nigro will open at 13th Street Repertory (50 West 13th Street) on September 2nd and continue to play on September 3rd, 10th and 11th. Directed by Paul Purvine, the cast features Leila McCann and Zachery Gamble.

A new production of the comic drama God's Man In Texas by David Rambo has been announced as a guest production at The Blank Theatre's 2nd Stage in Hollywood. Directed by Rambo, the engagement will run four weeks only with previews on Thursday, August 13, Friday, August 14, and opening set for tonight, August 15 at 8pm.

Tennessee Shakespeare Company, in partnership with the University of Memphis' Department of Theatre & Dance, presents its third and final developing musical reading on the University of Memphis mainstage with The Oliver Experiment by Jeremy Desmon and Jeff Thomson tonight, August 15 at 7:00 pm.
