Trading Kinky Boots' red heels for red braids, AJ Bridel is set for school again. The 22-year-old actress will become the 18th triple threat to play Anne Shirley at The Charlottetown Festival, joining an all new production led by Artistic Director Adam Brazier.

She wants to help the less fortunate creatures of the kingdom by opening an ogre orphanage or a unicorn sanctuary. James Daly (Master Harold and the Boys, Uncle Vanya/Shaw Festival) is Luke the lutist, Rose's shy music instructor who is part troll, but doesn't think he has a chance with her Highness.

The Toronto Star writes that the Canadian premiere of the Tony Award-winning KINKY BOOTS, which opened June 28 at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, has been extended through November 8, 2015. Tickets for the added six weeks of performances go on sale July 6.

BroadwayWorld Toronto has learned that American actor Alan Mingo Jr. will play Lola in the Toronto production of KINKY BOOTS. Mingo Jr. joins Graham Scott Fleming as Charlie Price, a casting which BroadwayWorld previously reported. The Toronto production is set to begin performances at The Royal Alexandra Theatre on June 16, 2015.
