Vintage's 'Honeymoon' Lacks Glitz But Not Talent

Sometimes you don't need a lavish design to make a musical about Vegas play well. I mean, it would have definitely brought another level to Vintage Theatre's current musical production of Honeymoon in Vegas, but the cast is what gives this one its dazzle.

EmpowerYouth! Students Begin Creating An Original Opera

In September, Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Chicago Urban League announced EmpowerYouth! Met Museum to Explore Transatlantic Career of Renowned Painter Thomas Cole

Celebrated as one of America's preeminent landscape painters, Thomas Cole (1801 1848) was born in northern England at the start of the Industrial Revolution, emigrated to the United States in his youth, and traveled extensively throughout England and Italy as a young artist. He returned to America to create some of his most ambitious works and inspire a new generation of American artists, launching a national school of landscape art. Opening January 30 at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the exhibition Thomas Cole's Journey: Atlantic Crossings will examine, for the first time, the artist's transatlantic career and engagement with European art. With Cole's masterwork The Oxbow (1836) as its centerpiece, the exhibition will feature more than three dozen examples of his large-scale landscape paintings, oil studies, and works on paper.

BWW Review: Overtime Theater's LIKE STARS, MOONIE

LIKE STARS, MOONIE is a two act play written and directed by thespian Morgan Clyde. Although comfortable onstage and starring in such local shows as SHREK THE MUSICAL as Princess Fiona and others, Clyde seems well adept at creating and directing this original work. LIKE STARS, MOONIE follows a seemingly normal, average all American family. Upon further viewing, we soon discover that things aren't as we would think.
