ACT Announces 2011 New Play Award: South of Settling 3/12-13

Playwright Emily Schwend has been named ACT's 2011 New Play Award winner for her play South of Settling. Two FREE staged readings will be presented in ACT's Bullitt Cabaret on March 12 at 8:00 p.m. and March 13 at 2:00 p.m.

5th Avenue Theatre Presents HEIGHTS, VANITIES et al. in '10-'11

Asolo Repertory Theatre Announces Details For 2011 Unplugged

Asolo Repertory Theatre today announced its selections and details for the 2011 Unplugged festival of new plays. Playwrights include Jeff Baron, one of the world's most-produced playwrights in the past decade; Jamie Pachino, winner of this year's Francesca Primus Prize from the American Theatre Critics Association; Bill Rosenfeld, who was nominated for 30 Grammy Awards and won 4 times; and Mat Smart, winner of two Jerome Fellowships and the San Diego Playbill Award for Best New Play.

Puccini’s LA BOHEME Highlights Opera San Jose's Season

Opera San José presents Puccini's timeless classic La bohème. A story of young love set against the impoverished but joyous lifestyle of 19th-century bohemian Paris, La bohème is Puccini's most beloved opera and for many the quintessential opera.
