From: Photo Flash: First Peek at Joyseekers Theatre's THE LOWER DEPTHSJoyseekers Theatre brings Russian playwright Maxim Gorky's classic play, The Lower Depths, to a contemporary American audience in a brand new adaptation by Australian playwright Tim Redmond, running March 23 - April 7 at the Connelly Theatre, NYC. Set against the backdrop of 1930's depression-era New York, Redmond draws parallels between pre-revolution Russia and a country quickly losing its grasp on the American Dream.
