Vell Retiza Baria

Vell Baria is a Filipino soprano singer, actress and songwriter. Currently taking up Diploma in Music Performance Major in Voice.

DEVELOPMENT FOR PERFORMING
Her talent for the performing arts was evident in her childhood, especially in singing; she sang in church and attended vocal courses. In spite of her condition, she never stops performing as her secret weapon to success and to gain more confidence and motivation. She shows her love for the performing arts since at the young age of 7.

ACTING CAREER ON STAGE
As a young musical actress, Vell starred in many Christmas musical plays run by her special school including The Christmas Story (2002), A Message from Me (2003), Believe the Miracles of Christmas (2004), The Mission (2005) and Disney Princesses (2006). In her 4th year high school year at St. Mary's Academy of Sta. Ana, she starred in an excerpt version of Grease
(2011) where she portrayed Frenchy.

She's been an active member of Sining Tanghalan since her first year in St. Scho in 2012. Whilst a member of the org, Vell learned the "theatre discipline" from her co-actors and directors with ease and passion. She enjoyed her success in her singing and acting career, but never fails to prioritize to do her important obligations. Vell continues to inspire other people and to spread the love for performing arts and she believes in "Fighting for something you want is gaining a lot of instant process."

In 2012, Vell made her non musical performance and made her public debut in the ANI Book Launching along with other members under the guidance of Mrs. Jenny Logico-Cruz. In 2013, Vell played Abundantia and chorus in Sining Tanghalan's major production, Ora Et Labora where she also gained numerous response for her singing voice and for improvement in her natural acting. She also took part of the theater guild's skits aside from musical and experimental plays.

SINGING CAREER
As a singer, she studied pop vocal in the Center for Pop Music Philippines and have her practicum at the age of 11 and was given 2 special awards; "Best in Voice Quality" and "Best in Stage Projection." Baria started singing in hotels, concerts, musical shows and doing lounge performances at the age 14. She is also a highly active concert singer and continuously sang in church, school choirs, concerts and Television, while also singing in talent shows and other competitions and events throughout her country. She has been invited as a featured singer/guest performer at many international conferences and events for organizations. Currently being trained by soprano Rica Nepomuceno at the St. Scholastica's College of Music where she is majoring in Voice.

PERSONAL LIFE
Outside performing career. Vells tarted out by posting youtube videos in 2010. Vell also took up hobbies such as watching movies as part of her self study on both languages and acting, video blogging, As a teenager, she liked to do theater. A few of her interests in which she loved to try includes gymnastics, figure-skating and swimming.

She cited Alice Herz-Sommer and Johannes Heesters her role models.

ACHIEVEMENTS
As a young actress and performer, Vell also received such honorable awards from different schools "Best Actress/Best in Acting", "Best Singer/Best in Singing" "Singer of the Year" and "Phenomenal Singer."
