Since joining the circus as a professional clown at age 15 Dick Satori has continued pursuing his passion for performing comedy over the past 23 years. As a physical Comedian he’s worked with artists from Cirque du Soleil & performed on Broadway. He studied acting at The University of North Carolina School of the Arts, wrote and performed a one-man show's Off Broadway, on Theater Row NYC, and Premiered his fifth solo-show, “Monkey Off Back – Circus Still In Town!” at SOLOCOM Festival after previews at The Firehouse Fringe in Richmond VA. He's toured 'Monkey Off Back - Circus Still In Town!' twice to Austin Texas, Wilmington NC, Kerrville TX, San Antonio TX, Nashville TN, Owensboro KY, and Louisville KY, Fringe PVD, Frontera Fringe Fest, StoryFest NYC, and is on his way to Atlanta Fringe (June 3-6), Emerging Artists Theatre New Works Series Off Broadway (March 10th 9 PM Tada! Theatre) during his ongoing North American Tour. He has plans to bring his show to Edinburgh Fringe and back Off Broadway for a longer run.

Satori has performed in over 45 cities across America, 4 countries, and 1 Jail. He's worked with such comedians as Hannibal Buress, Ahmed Ahmed, Rory Scovel, Nate Bargatze, Eric Andre’, and Danny McBride. He recently featured for both Mike Gaffney and Craig Shoemaker in New York. Dick’s been a winner at comedy contests at The World Famous Comedy Store in Hollywood, Catch A Rising Star's Catch A New Rising Star in Princeton New Jersey, The New York International Clown Theater Festival, Cozzy’s Comedy Club, The Harlem Comedy Show, The Richmond Funny Bone, twice received the Will Rogers’ Comedy Award, and currently shares a Guinness World Record for Longest Comedy Show (with multiple comedians).

As a storyteller, Satori has studied extensively with Adam Wade (20 time Moth StorySLAM Champion) in New York City at Magnet Theater Training Center. Satori won 3rd place in first Moth StorySLAM in NYC and won 3rd place at Story Fest ShortSLAM in Maryland. Satori has been a featured performer at Prose of Pie in Dobbs Ferry NY, Big Irv’s Storytelling Roadshow in Brooklyn NY, The Astoria Bookshop Storytelling Show in Queens NY, SmutSLAM NYC, Fail Better Storytime NYC, Friday Night Stories! NYC, and (mostly) TRUE THINGS Storytelling Show Performing Arts Studio in Long Island NY. He has appeared on The Bodega Monthly Storytelling Show in Williamsburg, Mouth of the South NC, Pittsboro Roadhouse, Out By 10! Storytelling Comedy Show NYC, and featured on Adam Wade and friends Storytelling show at the Magnet Theater in NYC.

In addition to colleges, he’s entertained on The Addicts Comedy Tour, The East Coast NA Convention, The 80th Annual International AA Convention, and is a regular guest on A Comic's’ Life on LA Talk Radio. He has appeared in The New York International Fringe Theater Festival, the Richmond Comedy Festival, The Midwest Comedy Festival, Greenville Comedy Festival, and The Females in Comedy Festival in L.A. (yep he did that).

Dick has studied meditation and Dharma Art at the Shambhala Center of New York City for three years. He is a certified Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance, and is a certified facilitator of The Yoga of 12-Step Recovery (Y12SR). Satori is proud to have over four years of continuous long-term recovery from drug addiction.

Satori, an East Coast based Storyteller, Stand-Up Comedian, Actor, and Clown, has developed his fifth (and by far most personal) solo comedy show, 'Monkey Off Back - Circus Still In Town!', which he initially created largely thru stand-up and comedy variety circus arts.

Emerging Artists Theatre Presents Their 20th Annual New Work Series


Emerging Artists Theatre celebrates its 25th Anniversary by presenting their 20th Annual New Work Series (NWS). Under the direction of Artistic Director, Paul Adam's, the festival runs February 26 through March 18 at TADA Theatre in Chelsea.

New dates have been announced for the hit Long Island based storytelling show, (MOSTLY) TRUE THINGS. Dates includes performances on March 25th, May 20th and June 17th at The Performing Arts Studio in Port Jefferson.
