Dan Chien is a collaborative pianist, music director, theatre musician, and multi-instrumentalist based in New York’s Northern Catskills region. He has performed in, sound-designed, or music-directed more than 250 plays and musicals with regional theatres, schools, universities, and community arts organizations. His theatre work includes musical direction, rehearsal and pit piano, sound design, vocal coaching, and conducting.
He is an adjunct collaborative pianist in the Department of Music at SUNY Oneonta, Principal Keyboard with the Catskill Symphony Orchestra, and organist and choir director at Roxbury’s Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church. His wider musical work includes early music, wind ensemble performance, and regional community band and choral work.
