BIO

My first play,"The Loyalist" was commissioned by the West Haven Historical Society to celebrate the nation's bicentennial in 1976. There were two production a month apart and it was subsequently taped for TV by the Hartford Library.

My one act play,"Second Sunday in May" was placed first at the Mark Twain Masquer's Playwriting Competition sponsored by the Hartford Playwrights. It was later produced at the Warner Studio's Winter Festival in Torrington CT.

Both "Dinner at Dario's" and "On Golden Wings" were semi-finalists in the Masquer's competition, followed by many workshops at the Studio Theatre Inc. (now called TheatreVision) in New York City.

The World Premiere of my full length play, "Agrippina" took place in 2004 by TheatreRats Inc. at the Shetler Theatre in New York City. It was later published by Heuer Publilshing and received its Los Angeles Premiere in Hollywood at the Hudson Theatre by First Foot ForwardOn "On Golden Wings" was produced in conjunction with an operatic concert at the Amatopera Theatre in NYC and also at Yale University in New Haven CT.

"Sarah wants the Moon" a play about the actress Sarah Bernhardt has been workshopped at the New York Studio Theatre. My new full length, "Yesterday's Cakes," is currently making the submission rounds.

Aside from "Agrippina", publications include excerpts and scenes from all of the above plays in Smith and Kraus audition books. A momologue from "Second Sunday in May" is in Urgent Maturity, Mother and Daugher Monos. A Poem, "Song of Passing Youth" is published in a showcase edition of A Celebration of Poets.

I have been a member of the Dramatists Guild of America for many years.
