Dallas Art Fair Announces Exhibitors For Eleventh Edition

The Dallas Art Fair is pleased to announce the exhibitor list for its eleventh edition. The fair will take place within the Fashion Industry Gallery (f.i.g.) in the Dallas Arts District from April 11-14, 2019. Close to 100 exhibitors from over 30 different cities across North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia will take part in the 2019 fair.
Circa 1881 Presents WHOVILLE Exhibition

Circa 1881 and The Peninsula Chicago present Whoville, an exhibition featuring over thirty art works from the Beth Rudin DeWoody Collection. On view from September 9 to October 23, 2016, at The Peninsula Chicago, the exhibition coincides with the annual EXPO CHICAGO, the International Exposition of Contemporary & Modern Art (September 22-25, 2016). Whoville is the latest project from Circa 1881's ongoing partnership with The Peninsula Hotels to present rotating art exhibitions of world-class contemporary art for the hotels' public spaces. The winner of the 2016 CODAaward in the Hospitality category, Circa 1881 produces art exhibitions and programming in collaboration with noted collectors or from artworks on loan from private  collections it has under management.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announces the next Gallery Crawl in the Cultural District, downtown Pittsburgh, will take place on Friday, July 10, 2015, from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. CrawlAfterDark events begin at 10:00pm at venues throughout the Cultural District. The Gallery Crawl is held quarterly and is free and open to the public. The crawl showcases thought-provoking works by award-winning artists, one of a kind visual arts exhibition openings and premieres as well as live music, comedy and dance performances throughout the evening at various locations. 'The summer Gallery Crawl shows the Cultural District at its best,' shared Janis Burley Wilson, Pittsburgh Cultural Trust's Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Community Engagement. 'Cool people, live music, inspiring art and more attract thousands to SPACE, Wood Street Galleries and over 25 other Crawl locations.'

This year's Snap Gala, benefiting the Photography Gala Fund—the largest single source of acquisitions support for photography at the Art Institute—was a record-breaking success. On Saturday, October 19, guests were awed by the elegant, glowing centerpieces featuring vintage slides, as well as a curtain of slides hanging from the second floor balcony made by INDO (http://theindoprojects.com/). Attendees posed in sets of classic photographs from the Art Institute's acclaimed permanent collection during cocktail hour, as well as photo booths during dessert. Alexander Gilkes—Chief Auctioneer, Phillips and Founder, Paddle 8—ran a lively and theatrical auction that capped off the evening.
Fifth Snap Gala Brings Art Institute's Permanent Collection into Focus

The Art Institute of Chicago's Department of Photography is pleased to hostSnap: The 5th Photography Benefit Gala on October 19, 2013 in the museum's Modern Wing. This year's event celebrates the museum's encyclopedic permanent collection of photography. Proceeds from Snap contribute to the Photography Gala Fund, the largest single source of acquisitions support for photography at the Art Institute. This fund has helped make possible landmark purchases of work by André Kertész, Richard Misrach, Daido Moriyama, and Ed Ruscha, among others. The event is co-chaired by Meredith Bluhm-Wolf and Dia S. Weil.
