Nowadays, you can argue anything is art. But I've never questioned if graffiti was. The bigger question is where it belongs, examined in DCPA Off-Center's latest feature.
Your first look at Off-Center's 'This is Modern Art,' written by Idris Goodwin and Kevin Coval. The proudly controversial play recounts the true story of one of the biggest graffiti bombs in Chicago history.
The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) is proud to announce full casting and creative team for Off-Center's production of This Is Modern Art. Based on a true incident in Chicago where a graffiti crew created an elaborate tag on the side of the Art Institute of Chicago's brand new Modern Wing, This Is Modern Art gives a glimpse into the lives of anonymous graffiti artists and asks us to question the true purpose of art.
