Lynn Rogoff


Lynn Rogoff has been in the forefront of ground-breaking film, television, theatre , and multimedia content. Her work has been influential in introducing American history and culture to several generations in a number of mediums.

Lynn Rogoff was honored as a WGA, East Foundation Fellow, for dramatizing two early twentieth century American icons. This passionate love story LOVE, BEN LOVE, EMMA is based on correspondence between Emma Goldman and Dr. Ben Reitman.

LOVE, BEN LOVE, EMMA was originally produced to critical acclaim by Lucille Lortel on the East Coast in 1983, starring, Judd Hirsch, Tovah Feldshuh, and in 1993, in Los Angeles at the Tiffany Theatre starring J.T. Walsh. Olympia Dukakis, Jacques Levy, Vivica Lindfors and Kevin O’Connor directed productions of LOVE, BEN LOVE, EMMA in New York.
She was honored as a WGA, East Foundation Fellow, for dramatizing two early twentieth century American icons. This passionate love story LOVE, BEN LOVE, EMMA is based on correspondence between Emma Goldman and Dr. Ben Reitman. LOVE, BEN LOVE, EMMA was originally produced to critical acclaim by Lucille Lortel (White Barn Theatre ) on the East Coast in 1983 starring, Judd Hirsch, Tovah Feldshuh, and in 1993, in Los Angeles at the Tiffany Theatre starring J.T. Walsh. In 2009, Lynn Rogoff directed LOVE, BEN LOVE, EMMA for the 20th anniversary of NYU Studio Tisch at her alma mater.

In television, her film No Maps on My Tapshas aired nationally and internationally for a decade. Her film was honored with two Emmy Awards and First Prize's at film festivals, worldwide. In addition, Rogoff won a Nomination for Outstanding Writing Achievement from the Writers Guild of America. This feature film, No Maps on My Taps was produced on grants from the AFI, PBS, the CPB, the Ford Foundation and the NEA. This film was the first to capture the black tap dancers' contribution to American history. Rogoff was honored to sit as a Judge for the National Endowment for the Humanities. She was a special consultant for the NBC Special on the Apollo Theatre, UPTOWN with Ben Vereen and countless stars celebrating the Apollo Theatre.

Rogoff founded the AMERIKIDS USACompany developing, AMERIKIDS ® as a pilot television and book series for ABC Network Television. These Weekend Specials dramatize the true adventures of heroic American teenagers. AMERIKIDS USA, ventured into the realm of edutainment in its CD-ROM game series entitled, "AMERIKIDS." Her company was awarded with a prestigious challenge grant from ORACLE Corporation to produce a prototype of my AMERIKIDS interactive, live action series.

The first in this series, Pony Express Rider was published and released by McGraw-Hill Home Interactive for Christmas 1996 to critical acclaim. This live action, $1.5 million dollar blue screen-3-disk adventure was awarded a Crystal Award, a Bessie Award, National Parenting Center Seal of Approval and a Family Channel Seal of Quality. Rogoff has worked as writer, producer and director on numerous award winning television series. In America she worked on Sesame Street, Big Blue Marble, and Watch Your Mouth here in the US and Rechov Sum Sum in Israel (Israeli Sesame St.).

Most recently, Bird Woman a magical realism screenplay on the morphing adventures of Sacajawea, was transformed to BIRD GIRL an animated game of the first American green girl. BIRD GIRL explores the adventure of the Shoshone Indian guide who led the Lewis & Clark, Voyage of Discovery, across the dangerous Rocky Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. Rogoff ‘s new Green Kids Media was developed for the launch of NYC partnership launch of Fast Trac New Venture entrepreneurship program for innovation!


Rogoff received her MFA from NYU, School of the Arts, in Directing. Among her numerous stage directing credits is: A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee William's, The Labyrinth by Arrabal, Attempted Rescue by Megan Terry, the award winning ballet Journey and The fn Crowd, a rock opera by J. E. Franklin.
