Benjamin Tobias Jensen

From a young age I have been interested in theatre, my mother and I would go and see performances as often as we could. This interest was then enhanced when I attended high school and was part of the cast in productions such as les miserables, west side story and hairspray. My autism has never held me back, in fact it has given me the determination to follow my dreams of being part of musical theatre and acting.

As my education continued I was able to use this motivation to obtain first standard grades in music and drama and then a higher music and intermediate 2 drama. In 2015 I obtained my NQ in musical theatre and have gone on to study towards an NQ in acting and performing.

Out with education I have been an active member of a local Amateur Dramatics group called Helensburgh Savoy. Through this company I was part of the cast for productions such as Oliver, Fiddler On The Roof and Anything Goes. One of my proudest moments was playing Dr Grimwick in the Oliver production which was performed at Edinburgh Playhouse.

In order to further develop my skills I have also taken dance classes through Dance Glasgow. I recognise the hard work and determination required to excel in this field.

As my achievements within this field show, I am dedicated to the arts and feel that this is my vocation in life. While I have worked hard I also have been an active member of a football group and attending the gym.

I trust my enthusiasm, passion and drive is conveyed as I cannot imagine working towards anything other than within Performance.
